maybe you should seek professional counseling instead of coming here for advice.
Either change your life so a new view of life arises or try a near death experience
When you start becoming an adult, i think its permanent. Only death can save us all.

I am in counseling, taking medication, exercising, and taking vitamin supplements.

I've faced a few nde's but they only make me realize how short and arbitrary every life is. It kind of keeps a bubble of existential despair.

I've been an adult by age for years but still haven't fully developed. It feels as if the only things to do revolve around drinking.
Listen OP. Everything you perceive and experience is the result of chemical reactions in your brain. We're here because of an incredibly complex coincidence, not anything divine. Our intelligence and ego have created many illusions of grandeur but don't be fooled. Your life is no more or less meaningful than that of a squirrel you may see on the street.
Damn it, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride. In fact, I would say it supports the opposite. Everything we learn and accomplish will someday be swallowed by the sun. Why the FUCK are you not doing whatever you want, whenever you want? What's stopping you from being happy? Seriously? If I had to guess, the only thing standing in your way is your own self-doubt. Throw yourself at the world OP. Give them hell.

That's the problem. I am well aware of this but no activity brings me happiness or pleasure anymore. I even force myself to do the things I used to enjoy but to no avail.
