I have actual French blood (great great 6x more greats grandfather was a French soldier who was part of Napoleon's invasion of Mexico in 1860-ish) but I don't fucking claim it bc I'm visually, phenotypically very obviously non-white
I do speak, read and understand semi-decent French though (took French 3 yrs in HS)
But that has nothing to do with "Muh heritage!" or "Discovering muh cultural roots"
I learned French because my HS offered only Spanish and French as foreign languages (not the most well-resourced HS around but I digress) and Spanish is my first language so I would have gained literally nothing from taking Spanish classes in HS
Also French and French culture is semi-interesting desu.
I can even communicate with quite a few Central and West African peoples like in Congo par exemple too bc Le French Colonialism
