I just bought a house.

Because I am a >wagecuck.

I love my job, my fiancee, and my life.

Do you know what, historically, has separated the Nobleman from the peasant?

Land ownership.

I own and control a fucking plot of land and house.

Stay irrelevant NEETs

Great job, op. I bet you had to take out a mortgage as well, right? Have fun paying back the kikes until you're retired.

Meanwhile, I just bought 15 acres that I'm going to build a cabin on and NEET up for the rest of my days. In cash, because I'm not a dumb normie who spends all his wageslave points on stupid materialistic bullshit (including women). I'm practically retiring at 20.
>>
>>25039647
How'd you get the money?
>>
>He thinks he owns the land

The government owns it; you're just borrowing it until they want it back.

T. Eminent Domain
T. Property Tax
>>
Mortgage debt isn't necessarly bad debt.

Interest rates are ~ 4%

Prob a decent time to buy.

By the way NEET armchair QBs, I made 7 figures in the last 5 years on MORTGAGED properties.

But enjoy you're rhetoric, vidya, and tranny porn.
>>
>>25039673
I wageslaved just like anyone else. I lived with my mom all my life, so even once she started to make me pay rent, it's still much cheaper than having to live on my own. The bulk of my cash came from wageslaving full time at $10/hr for 2 years. Made me feel like killing myself every single day, even the ones I had off because I knew I was going to have to go back.
>>
>>25039736
Why are you even on /r9k/ when you obviously have better things to do.

>The word mortgage is derived from a "Law French" term used by English lawyers in the Middle Ages meaning "death pledge", and refers to the pledge ending (dying) when either the obligation is fulfilled or the property is taken through foreclosure

Not saying that mortgaging your life away isn't an incredibly stupid idea, but learn your history.

>>
>>25039832
Eminent Domain is very rare, and requires the Government to pay you for tyour property. And they can't set the price either. For the most part, if the government is going to use ED to acquire your property you're in for a pretty nice payday.

But you libertarian NEETs knew that right?

I own a house though. I just don't delude myself into thinking that if I don't pay my property taxes the government can't seize it because they own the land.
>>
>>25039769
The etymology is irrelevant, it's just stupid to mortgage.
>>25039792
Did you even read my first post? I'm a tremendous loser for buying a much large piece of property than OP (that's probably in a much nicer area than his) and getting ready to retire when I'm 20 years old? Every job is shitty. I actually liked the people I worked with and the labor wasn't all that bad, just being forced onto a 9-5 schedule was absolutely hell in itself. That shit turned me into a zombie.
>>25039812
No, are you? I'm not just a NEET, I'm a retired NEET. It took me 2 years to do what other people try to do with 50.
>>25039829
Being a NEET doesn't mean I won't have an income. I just get to do fun shit that makes me a couple dollars here and there while not having to worry about money. I'm basically going to have no bills to pay and just need enough money for food/water and property tax. Plus, I really want to get into a diet composed mostly of rice, beans, grains, nuts, and seeds. All that shit can be bought in bulk for relatively cheap and is much healthier than what most people eat these days. Obviously I'm going to supplement it with eggs, fruits, veggies, herbs, seasonings, etc for flavor and additional nutrition. Inb4 someone says something about not get all the vitamins/nutrition I should be, neither does anyone else these days since everyone eats processed garbage covered in grease.

Well, the government can seize almost any of your possessions for unpaid taxes, including your freedom. So, in your example, the government owning the land your house is on is pretty inconsequential.

>The etymology is irrelevant

yep

>it's just stupid to mortgage.

Nope. Again, NEETs don't know what they're talking about.

I bought a house on mortgage for 715k. Put 10% down. Sold it 4 years later for 1.45mil. Me and Wells Fargo don't split the profits senpai.

Maybe friend bought a condo for 450k on a FHA mortgage which required 3.5% down. Sold it 3 years later for 965k. What an idiot, right?

Saying it's inherently stupid to mortgage is asinine.
>>
>>25040196
You know for a fact the vast majority of people don't use the system to their advantage like that.
>>
Where do you guys live where you have to worry so much about property taxes. It pales in comparison to paying rent/mortgage. I inherited a house and only have to scrounge up about 1200/1400 a year. I can make that washing windows on the highway. I can see if you live on acres or in a million dollar home, but normal shit doesn't cost that much.

How did you acquire enough $ to buy land and retire when you where 20 on a $10hr job?

This I've got to hear.
>>
Congrats OP. Dad gave me a house a few years back when I turned 18, I'm renting it out and using the money to pay the mortgage for the apartment I live in atm. In 8 years' time it will be paid off and I intend to do the same thing again if it will work at the time.

It's not hard to save 75% of your checks when you don't do anything and everything is free online. Also, the land I bought isn't near any big cities, so it was decently cheap.
>>25040310
Okay, I understand that people can use it to their advantage. Telling stupid people to try it will most likely result in them making a bad investment and stuck with a house/mortgage they didn't even want. Not to mention most people don't make enough money to have investment properties, even by mortgaging them.

that's why you rent out rooms in your house to people who don't have the credit for a mortgage. my dad and stepmum do this, and as a result they can own property in the most expensive area in this state (and I think Manhattan is the only area in the US which is more expensive)

I bought some land in Northern Arizona. Absolutely gorgeous area for cheap as dirt. There's a couple of expensive cities in the area, but most of it is still small cities/towns, cheap as hell. It was $10k for 15 acres. That's with the price dropped because I bought it in cash instead of financing it.
I am going to have to make some money here and there, but it's going to be easy online shit like MTurk. I can live off less than minimum wage part time, because I'm going to have almost no bills to pay when everything's all said and done. I'm going to need to pay for internet, food (I already went over my cheapo diet here >>25040083 it also doesn't require a refrigerator), water, gas/maintenance for my truck (ha, would I even need to go?), maintenance on the solar panels/batteries occasionally, and property taxes. I'm going to sit on my ass on my computer anyway, I still consider it being NEET and retired. There's a bunch of NEETs on here who make some sort of income through various means without having real jobs and retired people still work out of boredom on occasion.
>>25040555
Do you honestly expect anyone mildly intelligent to be around here? It's all in general terms. You can make money doing anything if you do it right. Most people can't do shit right.
>>25040706
Fuck that. Who wants to be around people, let alone scumbags who have shitty enough credit that the banks won't lend money to them?
>>25040743
My body is ready. This is the first time I've done something I actually want to do. I'd rather die a free man than continue to live as a slave.
>>
>>25040706
you're talking about subletting?

How else would you rent out rooms if you don't own the property?
>>
>>25040706

>I bought some land in Northern Arizona. Absolutely gorgeous area for cheap as dirt. There's a couple of expensive cities in the area, but most of it is still small cities/towns, cheap as hell. It was $10k for 15 acres.

That's going to be an unbelievably brutal existence. There is a reason that land is 10k for 15 acres..

More power to you, but applying the logic you're using in regards to the formation of your plan, to anyone with even borderline bourgeois desires, is pretty pointless.
>>
>>25040986
I understand that my desires in life are atypical, but I'm glad they are. Your "bourgeois desires" are what makes you and so many others slaves to the system. I'd much rather live my peaceful, simplistic life and actually enjoy myself. The modern way of "living" looks like perpetual hell from my viewpoint.
>>
>>25041083
Obvs, I don't know you. But you're young, and idealistic still. Time changes people.
>>
>>25041191
I know. I'm not saying I'll never grow tired of it and eventually sell the property and come back to society. I might, I might not. I don't know the future. I know one thing for sure though. If my life every comes to the point where I'd need to become a wageslave again in order to survive, I'm blowing my head off. That shit is worse than death itself.
>>
I'd rather just have a small apartment or condo. I stayed at a friend's house once for a weekend and everybody was gone when I woke up and it was the saddest, loneliest feeling ever.

Your home can be worth more to you than it's worth to the market.
>>
>>25041607
so overthrow the government?

What exactly is your point? That since you can't absolutely own a piece of land in the United States, it makes more sense to simply do nothing and sit in the basement your parent's rent or technically down own?

Mind blowing stuff pham.
