Left 4 Dead 2 is where you find these people. I have a ton of them on my friends list. I met an older woman through that game, and we became very close friends (phone calls and skype every day). Eventually we decided to get together.

The people you meet through that game range from nice to the most fucked up people you'll ever meet in your whole goddamn life.

The community can be vicious. She was stuck playing that game so much partly because other people were threatening her to play more or get ddos'ed, socially pressuring her, dumping their emotional health problems on her, etc.

My advice is not to go looking for this shit. It seems very good before and during, but it will take a turn for the worse. All these moments have passed now though. I still talk to GTAbro on skype a lot and since we're older I plan on visiting him soon but I'm an Ozfag and he's in Miami, so... Just looking for an opportunity there.
We had a group of friends that followed us everywhere, kicking ass on Battlefield Bad company 2, burnout paradise and whatever else, just casual fun stupid shit y'know?
And my girlfriend, well, we really loved eachother and we kept the relationship going online for SEVEN YEARS without ever meeting or talking in person. She became very ill and died in hospital before we ever met. That's probably the biggest regret in my life but I cherish those moments more than any other.
I miss having all my friends online, people you can talk to anything about, people from different worlds but somehow you just get along. It's good. Like, the only contact you have with eachother is online. If they really didn't want to talk to you ever again they could just delete you or whatever, but they don't. It's that genuine feeling of, yeah, these guys like hanging with me, that's so special, not to be a faggot or anything.
Now all anyone's interested in is shit talking or playing some stupid online prank for their third-rate youtube channel.
