To be honest most of the girls there are complete bullshitters. We have a few who really do want to murder themselves, but more often than not its attention seeking through and through. A patient actually managed to sneak a razor back in once and did nothing more than slightly cut her arms. If that were in the hands of our real crazies shit would've been a lot worse.
Another time a patient called for nurses because the noose she tied around herself was too tight. It's typical female bullshit. When a patient does something like this we normally put them on observations, which mean we either constantly need to check them every fifteen minutes (2s), constantly need to keep them in sight (3s), or constantly need to be in arms reach (4s). A lot of these girls ENJOY the attention they get from being on observations and are willing to forsake their privacy and dignity just to have someone to follow them around.
The worst? No one has actually ever suicide, but people cut themselves up and swallow pens all the time. A woman once, through pure repetition managed to rip through her stomach and was found playing with her guts. She's still alive though
