Should've just invited her out for drinks. I worked as a waiter and all of us would go out for drinks every sunday after our shift. A girl who was a waiter at one of our other restaurants (essentially a higher end hooters, think daisy dukes and a black vest) struck up a conversation with me. I ended up sleeping with her and dating her for ~three months. Granted, she approached me, but the point remains. You want to invite someone out for drinks or something in a social setting, not make romantic intentions clear from the beginning. But I also look like chad so that kind of helps my cause
