Every single time I see someone complain they want to college for "a piece of paper" or someone bashing degrees because "you don't learn anything about working a real job", its always because the person in question got a Bachelor's in fucking sociology, or finance studies, or some other useless non-STEM degree.

College is an amazing tool to help get ahead of everyone else. Most people just go to a shit university or get a meme degree. If you go to a competitive college and get a worthwhile degree it's pretty hard not to make over 100k unless you have no networking skills.
