I just found out about it the other day and i don't know why shrinks don't consider it a disorder itself.
The term was first used by Brian G. Gilmartin, to describe a type of severe cronical shyness.
Love shy people usually are:

>Person who rarely hangs out socially with women
>Has no previous romantic relationships with a member of the opposite sex
>Wants anxiously to have a relationship with a woman but can't because of the shyness

Gilmartin said that there could be females and homosexual people with love-shyness but that the effects would never as negative as with a heterosexual male.
It isn't a disorder because straight males are part of the patriarchy and their mental health isn't important because we need to decrease their numbers

My freshman year of high school I was considered a member of the "pokefag" (video games weren't normalfag tier yet). 2003 or so.

Love-shyness is in the same boat as HSP (highly sensitive person) - absolutely useless nonsense that describe behaviours that can be produced by pretty much anything, hence why no professional takes it seriously. If you actually care about these things and want to understand people/behaviour, you should take a look at the personality systems (MBTI, enneagram) since they can describe/explain issues like "love-shyness" and HSP infinitely better than some made up ultra-generic pointless term someone tries to make money with.
