Don't bother. I spent my middle school years doing nothing but reading ''how to make friends/ be a master conversationalist'' how to guides and books and I'm still just as shitty at this now as I was back then. Best thing you can do is accept your fate

It's hard, especially if you were never social during your childhood years.
To help you with these skills I'd say talk to people online in video games using mic chat or better yet, Omegle.
I still have trouble holding a conversation, but it helps.

Learn a few opening lines a some fake but legit sounding short stories, use them then to react on the persont simillar bullshit stories and there you go, you are conversing.
