/r9k/ is the true 4chan experience. That used to be /b/ but /b/ has kind of gone to shit with all the underage posters and roll threads.
1. Just about anything can be posted here and people will respond.
Unlike on any specific board like /v/ or /pol/, you can post anything related to any subjectmatter on r9k. Additionally, it's way slower than either of those boards or /b/ meaning people will almost certainly SEE whatever shit it was you posted.
2. /r9k/ is the most well-rounded board
Since it has no clearly defined subject-matter, you see a lot of cross-posters from other boards. You even see a lot of threads from other boards - I've seen plenty from /fit/, /tv/, and /pol/. It makes /r9k/ something of a one-stop-shop for 4chan, a microcosmic representation of the larger site.
3. /r9k/'s board culture emphasizes and celebrates what makes the average 4channer different from the rest of the internet.
Though I can't say I'm a fan of the NEET shitposting, the loathing much of /r9k/ holds for the outside world and normies creates a sense of camaraderie when posting.
For general discussion and shitposting, there's no place better on the entire internet.

Yeah, but they have excellent thread content. Most threads have deep responses that require actual thought, instead of spamming REEE and telling the normies to get out. It is depressing because most of them are on the edge of an hero/shooting up a school, but the thread quality is significantly higher. That's the aspect of wizchan that I want here.
