I say K-ON!
I can't ever get over Ritsu, I used to like Yui more but now I dream about Ritsu sometimes. Pic related.
Yea OP I agree with you. Second best Love Live for Yazawa Nico.
Fuck, I still can't get over this one dream I had where me and Ritsu kept staring at each other in class... my hearts heavy

I'm depressed that Love Live is about to start a long slow decline like K-ON! is well into. Or mu's is at least. I hope Love Live Sunshine is good.
It's depressing watching your favorite anime girls fade into history

At least K-ON! had an amazing second season and finale to send it off. It is a bit depressing that its over and slowly getting older, but I still genuinely believe the second season is an incredible show that deserves a little bit more recognition for its quality, at the very least technically wise.
And even if K-ON! has ended, the director has been working her magic for other shows. Tamako Love Story is a masterpiece, Euphonium is one of the best shows this year (if not the best) and easily one of KyoAni's best, and shes gonna be doing the Koe no Katatchi next year.
>not Azumanga Daioh
OP confirmed shittiest taste of shittest taste.

Yeah K-ON! had an amazing run. I'm just a pessimist and thinking about the show often triggers reflections on the transitory nature of these things, how the things that bring me joy ultimately follow a product cycle, etc. The people who still celebrate the characters' birthdays always make me sad, that's not something I could ever do, I personally need to stay obsessed with something current (so the feeling of previous obsessions being on the wane and nothing new taking their place is an uncomfortable one)
Holy fuck sorry to bring that into a cute anime thread
I loved Euphonium but for me it was more a "fit of passion" show for Kumiko and Reina than the feelgood slice of life thing that I crave. Severely looking forward to S2. And I really need to watch the Tamako movie.

Azumanga is great and I feel the humor has aged well, though the character designs haven't exactly. Or I guess I've just really gotten used to modern moe designs.
mugi best girl no debate

It's nice to see someone put into words what I'm feeling. I'm finding it harder as time goes on to just enjoy things for what they are as everything just gets extrapolated in my mind to depressing themes like the transitory nature of it all. Can relate.

I never really felt that way towards shows I guess. I'm always just happy if they have had some sort of impact on me, especially in cases like K-ON! and ARIA where the effects they've had on me are significant. Its sad to see them go, but I always keep those first-time experiences close to my heart and happy for just that. Even then, I am still able to rewatch those shows and get just as much joy out of them as I did the first time. Thats just me though.
Euphonium definitely isn't a SoL show, but for what it is its incredibly well-done. It actually made me incredibly emotional at times, and I connected with a lot of it, despite having no experience with school bands. I think its because of how real the cast felt, and their little mannerisms and quirks that make them more unique. Everybody feels so down to earth while still managing to have colorful personalities. Being able to connect with them so well made the more dramatic moments more impactful for me. The solo auditions, the last episode concert, the entirety of Kumiko's arc in episode 12, all these moments really just got to me.
Yamada Naoko is REALLY good with that sort of thing. She cares so much about her own characters that she considers them as her own friends. She understands them and this leads to her great characterization in shows like Euphonium and K-ON! Hell, you can even see her working her talents on episodes she just directed, like this Hyouka episode with Mayaka and the cooking competition. One of the best episodes too.
And definitely check out Tamako Love Story. Its different from the TV series as its a bit more dramatic, and digs more into Tamako and Mochizou's characters, but its an absolutely wonderful movie and captures adolescent love extraordinarily well. Yamada at her best.
>no Tamako Market
nigga

Oh god I hate this feel so much. Azumanga holds a special place in my heart because it was the first anime I got into. It's fucking depressing seeing it's content gradually disappearing from the net. You can't even get the series on DVD anymore...
don't forget Chu2
