Asgore's throne room is comfy as fuck in my perspective, the music that plays, the small dialog with Asgore, the flowers and vines. It feels very comfy.

However its a very unique comfy; its the type of comfy when you know that the comfy time is over, so you take one last big moment of comfyness and step out into the un-comfy.

Spyro became utter shit straight after the 3rd. I really wish Insomniac didn't sell Spyro, and just let it end then and there.

Crash also became shit at Crash of the Titans. Although Naughty Dog stopped developing Crash games after Crash: Warped, the people who made the PS2 Crash games didn't actually do a bad job and kept the core of Crash's gameplay and design. The racing games are a whole new game on their own. Pretty fun too.

At least we can take solace in knowing that Ratchet and Clank will forever be a pure Insomniac creation that doesn't seem like it's ever going to be radically changed.

God I loved this level, comfy and simple
The Spyro series in general are just so comfy
>>24964005
Same with Sly 2-3, loved Paris and just travelling it all around. It felt like Gta just going all around it. China was pretty comfy too, and loved the pirate level.
>>24965969
This was pretty comfy, but I loved the Jak and Daxter level in snow. I would literally have dreams about living in their. What a great time to be a child, where does was more immersion and less interaction of story and npcs telling it like a movie.

For me comfy is Ico, Rayman Origins, and Klonoa Door to Phantomille

I'm playing with my only friend in the world on Kronos right now. We started about two weeks ago, and have been grinding like mad men. We're lv. 39, horde side.

People say
>You can't go back
>Private servers aren't as magical
>It was about being young, not about WoW
>It's not the same

And they're wrong as hell. Those rose-tinted faggots have a shit-tier power level. I know I'm not 14 again, and I know that when I hit lv. 40 I'll go to Tanaris and pick up a specific quest from a specific goblin. Sure. But it isn't about the game being new. We're not that stupid. It's about being immersed.

I had homework that I wasn't doing because I was trying to figure out where to go to quest in 2005. I have work that I'm not doing today because I'm camping this fucking druid who cherry-picked me off of a hard pull and now I'm going to make his ass log or spirit res for having the audacity.

Same shit, really. New WoW actually sucks ass, and going back to playing Vanilla--while it won't make it 2004 again--is measurably better.

I am still wrapped up in a blanket.
I made myself hot cocoa
Snow it falling outside still, even though it's New York snow now, and not Tennessee snow like it was back then
I just rolled a Dwarf
Coldridge.mp3 is right here in my headphones
I still have something else I'm supposed to be doing
And I still can't wait to spend my next talent point

Come on back, robots. Let's make a guild.

Posting moar wow stories from Vanilla, I guess.

There was one kid who had been playing since beta, and he had a lv. 60 NE hunter. He was the deity for most of Vanilla while the rest of us leveled. Most social outcasts at my high school have gotten into WoW by now, maybe 6-8 of us. It's about halfway through 2005, we're all fifteen or so. Golden years. TBC isn't even on our radar. All of them played Alliance because of the one lv. 60 who knew the ins and outs, except for one weird, quiet autistic type.

>I have several false starts with A-side alts.
>Didn't know what talents were until lv. 14. Thought I had ruined the toon. Deleted him and re-rolled because I wanted a pet.
>Got my hunter to 15 or so and needed help with some elite quests, no one had time.
>Roll a druid, get to lv. 11 and don't like the play style, everyone is levelling past me now and I'm left behind.
>Decided fuck them, I'm rolling horde.
>Make new warrior
>Autistic kid, Austin, is about lv. 20 by himself by now. All the A-side kids are around 15, but Austin is leveling faster. We start hanging out in free periods. My high school issued students laptops, so we were sitting in the back playing in class. Skipping lunch to play. He comes round to help me grind up
>Austin and I become friends
>We stop talking to most everyone else, playing Horde
>When he's about 25 and I hit 20, he messages me and says "okay a few days ago I found this cave, I can't do it alone. The monsters in there are harder to kill somehow. You in?"
>fuck yeah, where is it?
>"meet me at XR."
>What's in there?
>"I don't know. But it has to be good, you'll see"

>have conversation about deep ideas and theories

>meet another friend from her who was also interesting to talk too and become good friends with both
>one day got depressed as hell and told her i didnt care for friends
>got so offended and sad she tells her friend and both delete me afterwards

Ps home just wasn't the same after that. Sometimes I just hate my teenage self for letting myself be so depressed and taking it out on other people.

Also, doesn't anyone here miss making friends on ps3 who you've never met before? I used to play mgs online, demon souls, call of duty black ops, little big planet 1, and many more. One time I thought someone hacked my account because my ps3 wasnt working and I deleted atleast 90% of the people on my friend list, where i played with legitimately everyone. I've never gotten that loving feel after that. I even bought little big planet 2 and black ops 2 just to make that feeling again and i couldnt. i felt i was too old and didn't fit in with the scene, especially since i started visiting /v/ afterwards. just couldn't connect with people when i found triple a games to no longer the same.

>We head south and make our way into Wailing Caverns. We didn't know what this place was. We had no idea what an instance even was.
>Inside, all of the mobs have golden dragons around their name plates
>Really hard to kill
>Hit really fucking hard
>We spend most of the afternoon doing really careful pulls, abusing hamstring, mend pet, taunts, every trick we had in our lv. 20 books to fight our way through the entrance caves to Wailing Caverns
>Been at it for hours
>There has to be some incredible loot back here for sure
>Finally we round the corner and the rare spawn lake beast is up. Behind, a giant swirling blue whirlpool--the instance entrance
>We try to take the weird silver dragon (rare) but it absolutely fucks our shit up
>Three-shots his raptor and eats us alive several times
>We finally give and go touch the swirling cave
>Loading screen
>Shitting our pants
>Inside Waling caverns. The Tauren druid at the entrance is talking to us about crazy shit. She gives us a buff. We look at each other.

We press on

These raptors are even harder to kill. It takes us ages just to work our way around the first bend and get into the wide open caverns. Just the two of us. His pet tanking, no one healing. Two of us. Kresh patrols by in the river below.

Mobs everywhere.

We admit defeat and leave, wounded, bloodied, absolutely mystified. We spend the next few lunch periods speculating about whats inside the cave, and keeping it a secret from the A-side faggots, lest they get in there and beat us to the treasure. Over the course of the next few days we make several attempts to 2-man WC without knowing what it is or how absurd the task we've set for ourselves is. Never made it farther than that first bend. The pulls got too big for us to 2-man at that level.

More shit as I'm recalling it. Jumping ahead to level cap in vanilla, few months before BC came out.

>Austin is lv. 60. I'm around 49-50 or so. It's the winter holiday, the Alterac season quests are up, and out new Growless cave is an absolute bloodbath for Wold PvP. Skeletons trail down the mountainside and litter the fields outside Tarren Mill. Austin and I travel form Orgrimmar to Lordaeron and fly down to Hillsbrad to hunt the god damn Greench. He's got a full quiver, and has just finished the Rhok'delar quest. Austin is a god.

>land in Tarren Mill
>red names in the distance, headed north
>mount up, two kodos, two mountains
>can smell filthy alliance blood
>in the company of Austin, I'm not so much of a sitting duck.
Keep in mind, all the A-side faggots from my school are on the same server as us.
>Austin and I weave through the ogres and head up into the mountains above Growless, staying out of sight
>Alliance everywhere, Greench is down, they're camping his spawn
>What horde are left are dying or dead. Ressing one at a time, being chased down and farmed for honor
>It's a gruesome sight
>Austin is in a well-known guild on the server, they have a PvP core as well as PvE. He phones it in, and some guildies who are famished for world PvP pick up a mage an port to UC
>We wait
>More horde comes in waves, getting demolished
>Mousing over the crowd, I come across a name I recognize
>Night elf hunter
>The original lv. 60 from beta
>The guy who got all of the kids at my school on A-side
>The O.G.
>He's here
>Point him out to Austin
>his guild is coming up from Dalaran
>he casts eyes of the beast
>runs his raptor over to the outcropping
>There is a full fucking 40-man streaming into view through dalaran, riding toward the cliffs
>Austin leaps out of the trees and sets his raptor on agressive
>The little bastard goes tearing off into the pile of Alliance

>There he is, standing in between two trees, staring down a pile of Alliance, charging an aimed shot while they all mob on his raptor
Back in vanilla PvP, depending on your gear, your target's gear, and the gods of critical hits, it was possible for abilities like Aimed Shot and Ambush to do damage upwards of 3k
>Austin resolves aimed shot just as his guild comes bursting over the ridge
>glittering arrow soars into the pack of them
>Hits the NE hunter from my class
>MAXIMUM
>CRITICAL
>HIT
>Austin one-shots him
>Dead
>HK: Sergeant
>Austin gets swarmed
>Rogues tear him to pieces
>I charge in after him but I'm only in my high 40's
>I probably didn't even land a hit before they killed me
>World PvP ensues
>We killed the Greench that day.

Nothing will ever compare to Vanilla-TBC and that's what's bothering, there is still memories I can make in it but it's all overshadowed by how shitty and inhumane the overall design of the game has become.

I was a lazy kid, I'll confess it right now. I loved video games, but I hated side quests. I just wanted to progress the story. This was the case in every game. I would be so enthralled by the story I needed to continue it. The only game I had an exception for was KOTOR 2, nothing in that game was boring, all of it was beauty.
>you will never play skyrim again, and experience going into dwemer ruins for the first time

I've tried replaying the games but it just isn't the same. Even if ES 6 comes out I'll already know all about the planet and the lore. I'll never be able to learn it all again, which is what crushes me.

Everything about Ocarina of Time blew my mind when it came out.
Every track, sound effect, and location takes me back to that time long ago in 1998 when I first played it. There was a certain atmosphere to those moments, and I can't even properly describe it. But if you were there to experience it from my point of view, you would understand.
I play this game once a year, and every single time I try to imagine it's 1998 again, and I'm still a 7-year-old playing it for the first time. But those emotions, the state of the world then, and the state of my life then will never be recaptured, and knowing that brings me profound sadness.
1998-2001 were the best years of my life, and I wish it had ended at the end of that summer. August 2001, it would have been a great time to die.

Same here, except I quit in MoP. It's hard to believe just how much of my life I pissed away on that game, but from sun up to sun down (barring school) I was playing.

Honestly, it was still fun into MoP but now I'm too old and familiar with the game to enjoy spending 12 hours just fucking around and accomplishing nothing. If I'm not on track to that next ding it feels like a waste. I'll never spend another entire day in BRD with a terrible group, wiping repeatedly and having to run all over the place to repair equipment and get back into the instance while dealing with respawns. Honestly the ultimate comfy game. The simple graphics, the exploration, the massive amount of quests, gear, skills and minigames to do. So many places to explore. So many people to meet.

I used to wander around the world, going to far off places. Sometimes people would run past and I'd click to see their name or level. That was it. In a moment they came and went through my screen while I walked on. Miles away and Long Way Home were the songs I always played when wanderlust took me places.

It was when I was a kid and I couldn't go out and drive aimlessly. It was the only way I could alleviate the feelings of wanderlust. I felt like I was a small fish in a big pond. Logging into Runescape always felt like coming into an entirely different world. There was always something to do during those late summer nights with my idiot friends.

It honestly pains me when I look back. Nothing will ever be this comfy or carefree. It hurts man. Runescape was and will always be my favorite gaming experience.

Yes, I think you should try it at the very least. It isn't something you should take too seriously, but rather relax and enjoy whenever you're in the mood. I'll admit the story isn't perfect, but it's interesting to see how it all plays out. The game definitely keeps you hungry for more, whether it'd be in combat, exploring, crafting, or just finding the meaning behind everything that's happened to you as you play.

I'll never forget the hours upon hours I spent playing this game in the 5th grade. the online component was fun also. I had a whole group of online friends who I would play with every day and actually became pretty close to.
I also played the gamecube one a lot

I feel you. That game had the most amazing atmosphere of any game I have played. I enjoyed the sense of being completely alone in derelict buildings and ruins, especially in Chozo Ruins and Phendrana. The music in every level was perfect to fit the theme too.

I always will remember shooting open a door and to hear the music dim... then the crash of the space pirate attack theme burst through and scare me shitless as a kid.

The other two in the trilogy were more about Samus and the federation, light and dark, and corruption. I don't think they followed the spirit of the first game at all.

I'm glad we have good GameCube emulators so I can revisit this game whenever I please.

Never played this
but man Dark Cloud 1 was amazing for me. I remember playing it for the first time on my ps2 demo.

I used to wish I could be Toan and go on an amazing adventure with my whole being

Listening to this gets me misty eyed everytime

Isn't that old, but Titan Quest used to be the shit.
Sure, it had a tons of cheaters.
Literally everyone had a magic ring which maxed out everything. Plus you could dupe things fairly easily.
But the community was great, and despite that it was always fun to play and talk.
Why do good things have to die.
