God forgives you for finding it difficult to love Him back sometimes. The fact that you survive what you go through and come out the other side still searching for Him is amazing, and God loves you even more for it.
Have you tried talking to a priest? I don't know your denomination, but I find that 90% of the time, a minister will have something helpful. I'm not even Catholic, but going to confession can feel really helpful sometimes as well.

I think that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and that as long as you're a good person, God would be pleased with that. But when you have knowledge of Jesus and his sacrifice, it guides your actions and you almost have to try and improve yourself. Would you like any prayers?

You can experience group worship and instant affection, take part in the music (which has been shown to be good for your mental health) and meet and talk to people after church. Many bad things happen to good Christians, and other good people, and I doubt God wants that, but that's just the way that man is making the world. God doesn't give people success - His own Son was horribly crucified, many of the original founders of the church died horribly, and even while alive lived simply. God helps people, yes, with spiritual aid; not with material success. What good are riches in this life when we shall have the Kingdom of Heaven, which cannot be stolen or perish?
It sounds as if you've been listening to preachers of the so-called prosperity gospel. This is a deeply flawed theological position, and I would seriously recommend that you research that point of view and its flaws further.
