I was put in the engineering house in West. I almost picked a room in Simmons, actually, but after googling the guy who was in the room, I felt too intimidated.
Are you basically allowed to do whatever you'd like, as in, are there RA's and shit telling you what to do all of the time or is everyone basically doing their own thing and keeping to themselves, doing their work etc? I went to boarding school for two years of high school and I keep thinking that it's going to be the same controlling environment. Does the university actually treat the students like adults?

Back. Your contact with RA's will be very limited beyond the orientation at the beginning of the semester. As long as you aren't throwing parties in your room or blasting music, you'll be left alone. If you're living with other freshmen engineers, they'll probably be annoyingly loud and distracting until some of the fags get weeded out, but you can always just walk to Davey Library (5 minutes from West) and study there, 9AM-midnight. If you aren't honors, you're pretty much free to do whatever you want, as long as it doesn't involve smoking or drinking in dorms.
