This isn't true at all. Your mistake here is thinking that intellect and charisma go hand in hand. In this theoretical situation you have high intellect but low charisma. In reality, you vastly overestimate your own intellect. I know because I used to think I was too much smarter than everyone else as well, then I realized that smart people don't end up in my situation.
