What up fags. Basically, I'm a useless nigger with a terrible family that makes my life miserable. I have next to no chance of graduating high school (senior) on time, do copious amounts of drugs and alcohol (been clean 2 months though), and am poor as shit. I just turned 18 a few days ago and am a white Manlet living in the San Gabriel Valley, California, would you recommend attending job corps for a hopeless degenerate like me? Do you have any stories to share regarding job corps? Bonus points for SoCal niggas.

I went for a tour of one a few months back, but decided not to go because food didn't look that good and I'd have to be there for 2 years.

Almost went to Job Corps near Pine Ridge SD. Didn't because fuck that. all my friends that were too autistic, violent, or dudeweedlmao went there. None finished their program.
If there is any chance you can pull through hs in one more year or semester I would do that. If not, go GED then trade school. You have to be a hard motherfucker to make it in job corps.

everyone in jobcorps is stupid; you will meet a few people that are at a somewhat decent intellect but are in similar situations to you; potentially smart, just lazy as fuck. I enrolled in jobcorps when I was 24, just at the cutoff age. Students there do not have their shit together, be prepared to be treated like an idiot until proven otherwise.
The food is shit, but some centers are better than others. Say you want to learn CISCO networking at the Moses Lake Columbia Basin jobcorps center in Washington; I went there for advanced training at the college across the street. They don't let jobcorps students stay in the college dorm anymore as far as I know, but the jobcorps itself there is the better of the two I went to.
You'll meet all sorts of people; useful idiots, people you can consider friends, and maybe even make some good connections.
When I was in the advanced training program, I met someone that later went on to strike it rich off of litecoin when they hit 40$; the student body president was getting free pot because he taught someone off-center how to grow, and we were all getting high and hashing up bullshit schemes and drinking too much coffee.
The circumstance is what brings people together, and even if you may normally find them insufferable, if you have an ounce of not-fuck-up in you, you'll excel.
Get in there, know what you want, (in my case free college) be on your guard against faggotry, and prepare for old memes; jobcorps is literally the place that memes go to die. People were shouting the game and talking about chuck norris jokes when I arrived on my first center.

I quit halfway through the college program because I was sick of being there (looking back through old social media I was breaking the cardinal rule of DON'T BE A FAGGOT). Got a job 3 days after I got back though. It wasn't a career, but it was good enough for the time being.
My mistake is I went in to just get free college, and then once I got it, said fuck it.
Easiest trade you can do just to get into advanced training (like free college) is business tech, but it's such a bullshit waste of time. Do something useful (like CISCO) and then get the free college by not being a fuckup.
I'm actually just starting a better job now, but the truth is, if nothing more, jobcorps makes great resume buffer for finding a shitty entry level job.
If I were you, I would be working on some brilliant project while you're there; spend your free time learning to code or something; download all the e-books you can now, get a jailbroken psp for gaming and download a shit-ton of games. Jobcorps typically keeps people on lockdown, so if you're going to bring a laptop, smuggle your porn in on a flash drive that nobody knows about (you keep it in your pocket when they're inspecting your luggage when you arrive on center).
Don't fucking do drugs. They will piss test you. Sometimes randomly. I got away with it because I was smart, but I also let smoking too much free pot (I had a dubious source of unlimited energy drinks which I traded for it) get the better of my motivation.
Also if you have depression or anxiety, tell them when you get there/go to the nurses. Free pills m8.
Just... be smart, and laugh at the failures internally.
My input group was 15; by the end of the second week, there were 7 of us. STDs spread. Do not fuck jobcorps people unless you have condoms. Do not. And generally don't bother anyway because while I don't personally prescribe to the concept of drama, these faggots do.
