I'm curious as to how /r9k/ cooks ramen

>soft but still slightly firm
>drain water, noodle/water ratio should be 4:1
>add flavoring packet, add frank's hot sauce
>stir and eat

I drain almost all the water but leave enough to let the spice packet absorb evenly.

Boil water with diced garlic. Add noodles/3min boil. Drop 2 eggs, 1cup light chopped spinach. Add flavor packet, chili powder, onion flakes.
>>
Shin ramyun is too spicy for me, so after adding the ramen and spices, I add an egg and let it cook until it's over easy. Then I break it and it helps with the spicy

>poorfag
>>
>>24897042
should I have alot of broth for the eggs? i like to drain a little of the water out
>>
>>24896613

First, I boil a couple of small potatoes, until they are soft. Then I start a fresh batch of water for the ramen.

I add the seasoning packets, and a small amount of rice, to cook as the water heats up. Once the water is boiling, I add the ramen, crumble in the potato, maybe add some packaged tuna or salmon, and then crack an egg or two into the mix.
>>
>cook chicken ramen
>drain most of the water
>add season packet + ground white pepper + garlic + a pinch of ginger
>shits so fucking good
>>
boil water
pour over ramen in the bowl, add a bit of the flavouring
drain, add rest of flavouring but do it 1 by 1 and mix it around between each flavour sachet part
eat it

i don't know if it makes it better doing that way but my ramen autism makes me think that if after draining i add all the flavourings at once that the noodles might taste bland in one part and then like flavour in others.
usually add some grated cheese

>>24897055
shih ramyun is expensive here. i thought going by it's price it'd be like next level ramen but it was pretty average. was way too spicy
>>
>Add a little over a cup and a half of water
>boil
>smash up noodles in package, open that up into the water
>boil the noodles for approximately 1 minute and 40 seconds while stirring much
>pour all that in a bowl
>throw in the flavor mix, stir, and then throw in a single ice cube

Through trial and error I discovered the perfect way to make ramen noodles. The result will be plenty of broth and noodles that aren't stiff but aren't soggy and slimey (seriously why do people like them soggy?).

Enjoy robots.
>>

I buy it at a korean store by the case. 25$ for 20 packs. Not cheap but not pricey either.

Try these out, they make shin ramyun look like bland kids food. It's called teumsae ramyun.
>>
I went for the longest time just smashing it up in the bag, pouring the seasoning in and shaking it up. Finally I'd eat it raw like a bag of chips. Sometimes I'd pour it into a bowl and eat it like a spoon with cereal, and sometimes I would pour several into plastic baggies for a quick snack. I would not recommend milk or peanut butter with Ramen seasoned or unseasoned.

well first you buy a jar of peanut butter from the grocery store with money at the cash register after having gone to the aisle with peanut butter and picked some out. you do the same for ramen. then you go home, boil or microwave some water by opening your faucet and holding the ramen container or pot under it so the water goes into the pot or container, then you turn off the faucet, then you move toward teh stove or microwave and heat the water, either by pressing the number buttons on the microwave pad after putting the container inside the microwave y opening the microwave door with your hand first then closing it back up again and then starting the microwave by pressing start or by turning the stovetop on by turning the appropriate knob right until the grill heats up and by putting the pot of water on the stovetop. then you wait for the water to be heated, remove the water and open the ramen packet by holding it up with one hand and using your other hand to tear the tab at the top in a perpendicular fashion. you put the noodles that come out of the packet into the hot water and let them boil if stovetop or sit 3 minutes with the lid covering if microwave. you also open the flavor packet with both hands and pour that into the ramen/water mix. then you use one hand to hold up the peanut butter jar and another hand to twist the top off in a counterclockwise fashion, then pulling up after it has come undone so you can access the peanut butter inside. you remove the lid if it is your first time using the peanut butter so as to have easy access to the peanut butter.
>>
>>24898243
then you use one or both hands to pick up a spoon and insert the wide end of the spoon into the peanut butter jar opening. you move the spoon in a down and then out fashion, insuring that peanut butter is on the spoon. you then put the peanut butter in the ramen pot or container or even possibly a bowl though you will then have to put the rame into an empty bowl beforehand. you then mix the peanut butter with your spoon so it melts a little. after this you can use the spoon or possibly a fork or even chopsticks if you're a weeaboo to lift some ramen along with peanut pieces and you insert into your OPEN mouth, using your tongue and teeth to taste and masticate your food respectively, followed by a swallowing motion you should be able to do almost unconsciously. you repeat several times but all of this is optional since you only asked how you could toss peanut butter into the beef/chicken broth. enjoy! :)

supposedly there's something like a 45% chance that any two randomly selected foods will go nicely together

my bet is that it has something to do with the nutritional quality of food directly correlating to its flavor, among natural foods; if it's hearty and good for you, it's probably satisfying to eat. peanuts and meat are both good

fuck now I wanna try to make some sauteed ramen
>>

We say ramen because it's convenient, you're just nitpicking about specifics of terms you autist
>>
>>24900990
All I did was say that making pre-made food in the microwave ain't cooking.

Off to /ck/ with your autism.
>>

Wow that's even more pathetic
>freeloads off parents
>doesn't help with chores
>maintaining childish attitude and not just taking initiative to keep the house clean

Also
>above age 18
>still living with mommy and daddy

NEETs don't deserve love, gf's, or happiness

You say ramen because you're all fucking stupid.

You're not even being funny.

Japanese food isn't weeby, it's one of the most popular foreign cuisines. Stacies fucking love sushi.
>>
>>24900900
nice dub 900s brah!!
>>
>>24901067
No but being a nitpicking autist about what people call japanese food IS weeby

That's like when people are saying a romanized word and you come in saying "ACTUALLY IT'S CALLED [japanese]"
>>
>>24901114
Yeah, >>24900831 was being nitpicky, but it seemed like there were people who really weren't aware that there was such a thing as real, freshly cooked ramen.

>boil water, usually way more than required so it has a lot of broth
>add noodle block, turn off heat
>wait 1 minute until soft enough to break apart
>add greens, shredded chicken, sometimes a hardboiled egg or two, and lime juice (lemon juice if limes unavailable)
>eat from the pan over the course of an hour or so

I used to make it a bunch of different ways but I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever get tired of this.

Sup muthafucka's master race Ramen coming in here this shit is called Shin Ramyun and it is the tastiest shit ever.

If u cant handle the spice GTFO

> First boil some water
> Put the noodle block and the dried vegetables in boiling water

Optional: Add the spice to the water as well

> Boil the noodles until soft but still slightly firm
> Put in bowl and mix with spice
> Enjoy

I prefer it a little softer than what I said but nevertheless Shin Ramyun is master race instant noodle
>>
>>24901168
No, that's a false analogy. Freshly made Jap food made by Japanese chefs in the US is still "real" food, but instant ramen is not the same as a freshly made bowl of ramen you get in a restaurant.

Where in weebland did you live?
>>
>>24901223
Agreed.

But plenty of people beat you to it.
>>
>boil water with electric kettle
>cook noodles with seasoning in pot on stove
>stir in beaten egg when almost done

People that cook their ramen in the microwave weird me out. Microwaved water tastes like shit.
>>
>>24901224
no, what you think of as sushi is not japanese sushi. the average jap would spit out the "sushi" you like to pretend is "real."
also, instant ramen is super popular in asia, and japs love it, having named it the best modern japanese invention, even if they know ramen from an actual shop is ten times better.
also, jap food in america is made by koreans or mexicans 9 times out of 10, fyi.
i lived in kagoshima.
>>
>>24901270
Really? Even if you get it at a Japanese restaurant they're secretly Mexicans or Koreans in disguise?
>>
>>24901308
have you ever looked in the kitchen faggit? theyre mexicans in the back and sometimes japs behind the counter. you also get pretend japs behind the counter who are actually speaking korean, but you wouldnt know since your japanese is only what you "learned" from animu and "self-study"
>>
>>24901270
American sushi isn't "real" mostly because of the stuff we add to it, like avocado. Most high end Japanese restaurants do employ Japanese chefs.

I know instant ramen is popular there too for the same reasons instant food is popular here, but it's still not "real" ramen, which was the original guy's point.

And obviously Kagoshima is rainier than the rest of Nipland.

so youre trying to disagree with me by actually agreeing with everything i said but implying you actually arent. just stfu faggot.
>>
>>24901308
Don't listen to him.

High-level Japanese food takes a huge amount of training to prepare, there's no shortage of well-trained Japanese chefs.

A roadside sushi place might be Korean or Mexican-owned, but any expensive Jap restaurant will have Japanese chefs. Maybe the dishwashers are Mexican.

Yeah, I hear Chinese from waitresses and cashiers, but they're not the people who actually direct the cooking.

You can find real ramen places in the US too.
>>
Cook it, fry it in sesame oil, then pour two beaten eggs in it
>>
I boil the water, add noodles, drain, then add seasoning. Then I pour it over a few handfuls of spinach and use generous amounts of 'cha on top.

Only been to the States a few times, I just thought I'd share my lunch ramen from a few days ago.
