Federal Long Term Disability is actually pretty high, if you have worked for at least a couple of years.
If you log into ssa.gov, you can see how much your monthly federal payments would be if you became disabled.
Add in state and private long term disability plans, and you can be making a significant sum if you become unable to work. It just takes a bit of advance planning.

You spend a few years playing the game, working and acting normal. You be cautious, and always bump up your disability coverage by the maximum amount you can every year (without needing a medical exam).
Finally, one year, you start to complain to your doctor about stress, feelings of impending doom, etc. Then one day you have a mental collapse that leaves you unable to work.
No physical injuries; just a mental condition that needs a while in a nice relaxing place to recover.
