Who else here uses/has a weighted blanket? If you don't, what is your excuse for not having one?
>help with sleep
>help to calm down/relax
>literally most comfortable blankets ever.
>not just for Autism
>>
>autistic
>always needed a lot of blankets
>just now realize I've been hugboxxing myself to sleep
>>
>>24880363
Yeah, I used to have huge amounts of blankets on my bed which I would then try to tuck in tightly around myself. But I just got a weighted blanket recently and It is the most relaxing sleep I've gotten it a long time. Plus, I don't overheat from having so many blankets on me. It also helps me relax and calm down even when I'm not sleeping.
>>
>>24880363
What do you during summer? I always hated trying to sleep in the summer because I couldn't sleep with a pile of blankets like I prefer to.
>>
>>24881099
I would freeze my comforter, and then slowly warm up as I slept, waking up in suffocating heat and sweat.
>>
>>24880339
Even regular blankets are too much for me, I feel like being pressed like a lemon
Besides, it's too hot to sleep inside
>>
>>24881454
hmm, I always liked the feeling of being squeezed, as long as it wasn't by a person because that was always awkward, to each his own I guess
>>
>>24881859
I hate being touched, either by object or living beings.
I want to float somewhere in space
>>
>>24882307
Yea, I understand, I never like being touched by people and things like labels and some clothes can drive me crazy, but I like being squeezed. I'm glad I'm not quite as sever as you are with touch though.

>house is on fire
>try to get out
>oh shit this blanket is too heavy
>burn to death
>>
>>24883460
A weighted blanket isn't very heavy. They are supposed to be light enough to not prevent the person from moving. It isn't meant to restrain someone. The typical formula that is sighted is 10% of body weight plus one pound. I kind of went a little over that and did ten percent plus 4 pounds for a 17 pound blanket. Plus, I got a 7 pound lap pad that I can put on top that is about the size of my torso.

Sounds like more retard-tier recommendations gear from r9k. First I got shoes, then my jeans, then my blankie.

A waited blanket is for deep pressure which helps people calm down and relax and helps with sleep.
It's not like a soft fuzzy blanket that you cuddle with, although I do have one of those (pic related).

>10% of body weight plus 1 pound

wow so I need a 47 lb blanket? That very well may suffocate me.
>>
Is it like what piccolo wears in DBZ? Will it increase my strength I mean.
>>
>>24884156
Holly shit!
Anon, do you seriously weigh 460lbs?!
It's10% of body weight (or ideal body weight if the person is fat) plus 1 pound.

Those campaigns have to be one of the most dejecting things i've ever seen. I have no detailed explanation why but the lengths society has went to, to push the envelope of mental deficiency in all of its varying names makes me feel really fucked up.
>>
I grew up in Alaska, very soon, I was not able to sleep without a very thick blanket. Now I live in Florida aka the worst circle of hell on the planet. I'm sure it's punishment for being a degenerate NEET. Anyway let me tell you, if I go to sleep with almost any kind of blanket I wake up an hour later drenched in sweat. So that's why.

well, yeah. Autism is one of the uses, but as I said in the OP, It's not just for Autism. There are a variety of other reasons people use them.
Also, I'm not sure if Amazon has any good ones, I got mine from Sensory Goods because they seemed to be the cheapest and it's good quality, but I suggest shopping around and doing some research before getting one.

>>24885678
Of course they are real. Why wouldn't they be?
