Travel is actually nice, but only if you do it right. Flying to places and then staying in a city and taking a bunch of pictures isn't really all that appealing. Most people don't have any other choice, obviously, but you aren't going to get much out of spending 48-72 hours in a new place.
Also, a lot of normies basically do the same thing they do back at home when they travel, drink and go to clubs.
The superior experience is actually living somewhere for a few years, which gives you time to adjust to the cultural differences and all that good shit.

All of a sudden last year I got to travel and live all over Italy, Germany ,France,Spain... and really I was hopping I would experience everything that people were Bloating about. WOW IT WAS SO GREAT HERE AND THERE WOW BEST BEST...
Then I realizes its same shit as everywhere, everywhere people eat, do, work same shit.
People are same everywhere, they gossip, they are curious, they lie... I didnt found anything so "miracules" in these architectures or buildings as I hoped for, some of them are really nice but its 5 second feeling.
I think people just over exagurate experience for others to feel jelous or just to hide dissapointment in that travel experience..

It depends on what you like in life.
I like history. Being an American and seeing things like Notre Dame and Vatican City and Medieval walled, cobble-stoned cities of Germany held endless appeal to me. I grew up in California, I think one time growing up I was in a 100 year old house and it was a big deal. To see the stone work and architecture the same as it was hundreds of years ago was just endlessly fascinating to me.
Food. If you like food, especially if you're American, traveling can really give you an opportunity to taste new things. The best meal I ever had was in Sicily, and I hated Beer until I tried it in Germany and finally figured out what it was supposed to taste like. (to be fair the craft brewery thing hadn't taken off in the states when I was growing up, so I'd only tasted shit American beer).
If you like meeting new people, chatting people up in hostels or Fests who were brought up on the other side of the planet from you can be really interesting, they can introduce you to new music, or just mention things offhand that you'd never even thought about. Not to mention that locals in a strange land will find YOU more interesting as well.

There's also something about being a stranger in a strange land where you don't speak the language. It kind of clears your mind in a way I can't describe. Lets you be more alone with your own thoughts like you never have before. You're not susceptible to advertising or music or background chatter. Sometimes I think thats what people mean by "finding" themselves.
I'm too busy with my porn addiction and video game backlog to even consider traveling. I also fear my stuff getting stolen whilst I'm away.
I went to New Zealand and did a road trip from Auckland all the way to the bottom of the South Island.

Why is it mainly women that want to go travelling? Especially why is it those who typically dress it up as a "learning experience" and a way to "find yourself"? Every single basic Betty has an Instagram full of travel quotes and generic travel photos like their holiday is the most important thing in the entire world. Most guys seem to realize it as a financial sacrifice which enables you to fuck around, get away from your wife/responsibilities and get loose.
How many different photos do we need of the Eiffel tower and shit? Is it even interesting, how many times are we meant to hear "omg the food and culture and stuff was like soooooooooo goood" while nodding completely uninterested giving them the idea that their trip was actually meaningful. What annoys me most is that most normies just go to the most absolutely generic, touristy places that everyone has visited a thousand times before. What's even the point where in most western countries the only difference is that the people speak a different language? Even in shitholes you'll still see people with iPhones, Levi jeans and whatnot - The joys of living in a globalized world.
