I was just having this discussion with someone.
I could easily land a job with Gulf Stream, Intel, or any other leading electronics/robotics/aeronautics company with my credentials/experience.
I choose not to because I want to pursue a career that I will not only enjoy, but will bring my life joy.
I could potentially make between 50,000-100,000, all I need to do is shoot out some applications and take some interviews.
Instead I'm going to college and getting a masters in something that I will not only enjoy, but I am guaranteed to get two separate pensions as well as being irreplaceable due to the fact that a robot couldn't do the job anytime soon.
I'll retire at 70 somewhere in South America and live like a king.

Always thought I was smart, just recently found out that I have an IQ of 74, so edging toward slightly retarded. I wish everyone didn't tell me I was smart my entire life because I could remember useless information and read well. Proved to be absolutely, completely useless in the real world. The only thing that matters is your ability to socialize, which is the one thing I can't do. Everyone told me that the kids who bullied me would be bagging my groceries, but now I'm unemployed and most of them are successful, well liked, and in happy relationships. I wish people would've at least had the decency to not get my hopes up.
