Happy Tuesday Edition

My overseas brethren is that you
Deer Park Campground, Washington
>>24836563
yes!
what you are looking at is britain's one and only 'Royal Harbour'.
Literally. This was launching point numero dos behind Dover port for the D-day landings. I live like a 5 minute walk away from it.
San Kol, Kyrgyzstan
>>24836709
That's sexy
>>24836671
Where's your navy harbored? It's cool getting to drive by one of the harbors near me and see all their shit
Ala Archa, Kyrgyzstan
>>24836753
I've never heard of that 'stan
Is it tourist friendly?
Osh, Kyrgyzstan
>>24836770
Nobody's heard of it. That's what makes it so tourist friendly.
More of Osh, Kyrgyzstan

>>24836624
You a Washingtonfag? Is it really robot-friendly and /comfy/ living up there outside Portland, or is that a meme?
Even more of Osh, Kyrgyzstan. I just love this landscape so much.
>>24836870
Good Kyrgyz friend of mine. I agree about the qt status.
>>24836870
Here's another pic of her from the same trip. People are nature too, right?
>>24836878
It's super comfy up here. Stay away from Oregon they're a bunch of commies by proximity to cali.
If you like the more rural, midwest kind of life we have Eastern Washington which is just desert and farmland, and across the mountains it's more mountains and trees
Rent sucks dick up here near Seattle, but if you steer clear you can get a house for a decent price.
Any specific questions you have I'l be glad to answer
>maximum file size is 2MB
Well that limits it quite a bit.

Dream destinations right there.
I speak (basic to intermediate) Russian. I can get by, right?
Bali's not all beaches and drunk Australians. There's other cool stuff too.
>>24836988
How far up the river are you?
>>24837028
I guess in Mongolia more people speak Russian than English, but it won't make much difference in practice. Once outside of Ulaanbaatar, you will need a local guide/driver. There's simply no way for you to get around on your own. Tourism infrastructure is practically nonexistent, so you should just arrange for a guided expedition.
Guilderland, New York
>>24837028
I speak next to no Russian and I still get by just fine. You'd be more than alright.
>>24837035
About a half hour North of Poughkeepsie. That photo was taken at Bard College.
>>24836946
>commies by proximity to cali
Last I heard, Seattle literally elected a self-identified socialist as mayor. Plus, Canada-toucher.
I'm more a fan of western/coastal, I live in Nevada so I have seen my share of desert farmland. Getting old.
I guess I'm looking way more south because although I want to be relatively close to the coast I'm a giant fucking faggot when it comes to cold weather, and if I go much further south than Eugene I'm in Commiefornia, the place I spent three years of my adult life trying to escape.
At least I'm a tradesman with work experience, not some hipster faggot who moves up to Portland thinking he's going to open a coffee shop and masturbate all day.
More of Guilderland, New York. Excuse the sepia.
>>24837070
I grew up in a place called Longview, WA. It's 40 minutes from Portland, 2 hours from Seattle, and it's right on the Columbia with one of the free bridges going across right in the city. We have one of the few deepwater ports as well, so if you're a tradesmen you could find work in the lumber mills or somewhere at the port. It's a mill town for sure. Housing is cheap, the city itself isn't top (median income of 30k) but it's a good central location with a highway that will take you along the Columbia to Long Beach
Somewhere in Poland that I can't remember the name of.
>>24837142

More of that place in Poland. Some small town on the Baltic.

>>24837319

>>24837308

>>24837142
>Longview
Didn't know it by name, but I've driven through that area. I'm a tradesman, but mostly residential stuff, it's a lot less grunt than you might think. Lumber mills is up there with oil rigs on the "only if there are zero other jobs and I have been evicted" list. I've done enough lumber work, not full-time professionally but just side-jobs and stuff, to know that it's not anything I'd choose to do.
Also, even disregarding how far north it is (faggot for cold, like I said) it's right on the interstate practically touching two of the most liberal cities west of Florida. I've been to Seattle and Portland enough to know that I don't want to settle down that close to either.
Also, that entire area feels cold and industrial. Like when I lived by the port in Houston, except cold and Canada-touching.
Beautiful country, though. Why am I cursed to hate the climate of the places I find most beautiful?
>>24837228
>Motorbike not an option?
Let's see:
>few/no roads
>cold as fuck outside of summer
>no roadsigns, GPS only vaguely helps
>vast and empty, no cell phone reception in remote areas, no help if you break down
>no towns to pull into and fill up, no hostels to crash into
>nobody speaks anything but their own language
I took this one picture where it looked like all the trees were growing diagonally
but really it was the ground that wasn't flat
like some weird optical illusion
where is it? I don't know
but it was kool
>>24837364
Also, forgot to upload my photo. Here you go. This is at the Arlington field just a few miles north of Seattle.
>>24837364
Yea unfortunately the eastern half of the state is the warm part. Not sure what the scene is like in Spokane but that would be your non-liberal alternative in this state.
Although fortunately the liberalism is focused in Portland and Seattle with little leakage to the rest of the state. For the most part the state is republican but we can never be red because of faggotville
Also you wouldn't want to live on this coast anyway, have you heard of the new earthquake zone to the west of i5?
>>24837428
>state is republican but we can never be red because of faggotville
Pretty much every state, honestly.
>new earthquake zone
Did they just finish building it?
And earthquakes are kind of pointless fear-mongering. Grew up in Cali, felt several personally. Plus, modern building standards are doing a lot. If that one big San Francisco quake happened again today, almost every building built in the past 30 years (or more, idk, it's been a while since I was studying this) would be unharmed.
And earthquakes are good for business when you're a residential construction worker, anyway.
Frost covered web outside my kitchen window two days ago. The web was gone this morning so I guess it got too heavy. RIP
I'll dump a few, mostly from Milwaukee
>>24837554
Nah they just discovered it

Molokai Hawaii. Just north of this spot is a leper colony.
>>24837667
>leper colony
Is that Hawaiian for homeless camp?
>>24837695
No it's an actual leper colony. Although I suppose it's more accurate to say -was- a leper colony as there are only like five actual lepers living there and the rest are state workers. It's actually a nice little town 2bh.
>>24837606
I thought that was my photo at first, christ it really is just a colder version of Nevada.
>earthquake could happen anytime
I'm no geoscientist or whatever they're called, but I'm of the impression that predicting an earthquake is next to impossible, sort of a gambler's-fallacy thing. I understand the "pressure building between plates" issue to some degree, but I didn't think that made it possible to predict an earthquake to within 50 years or so.
Besides, back to what I said: modern construction makes earthquakes way less dangerous than the history books make you think. I'd be more worried about forest fires (grew up in Cali, I do know a lot about fires), building codes aren't gonna do shit for that unless you have a full-on professional-level Happening bunker. But it looks like you don't have too much to worry about on that front, from the pic.
Pic related, this is near where I live in NV and it looks exactly like your Washington one.
>>24837802
They still have those? I thought those were relics of the past.
>>24837813
>Besides, back to what I said: modern construction makes earthquakes way less dangerous than the history books make you think.
But this earthquake is expected to not just damage and shake up buildings, this is where the coastline changes after the pacific coast falls in to the ocean. But yea it's impossible to predict
Eastern Washington isn't even too cold
Who /Glacier/ here?
>>24837918
>Who /Gaycier/ here?That's a really cool photo, anon
>>24837878
>coastline changes
Then I hadn't heard about this new line of earthquakes, it's amazing what modern technology can produce. I'd heard we were set to lose Baja Cali and San Francisgay at some point, but I didn't know earthquakes were being manufactured to that scale up North. They must've finally built that new earthquake factory.
What's "not too cold," because for me even Southern Oregon is a bit on the cold side, but when you love trees and coast but hate California and the East Coast your options are a bit limited.
>tfw no Hawaii connections to get job offers on the islands
>>24838044
>but I didn't know earthquakes were being manufactured to that scale up North. They must've finally built that new earthquake factory.
Listen you cheeky fucking cunt the whole pacific subduction zone is a new discovery
>>24838064
>a new discovery
Please tell me they discovered it before digging all those ridiculous tunnels under Seattle. I studied those machines in school, it's some science fiction stuff.
>that pic
There's the Washington I'm more familiar with.
beach on the southern tip of florida
>>24838167
This pic here is from Blue Mountain near Port Angeles on the peninsula. Nice place
Also it was discovered after the tunnel. The tunnel machine has been under repair for 2 years, and it's probably going to break as soon as it starts again.
>>24837813
Is this on those hills behind kings row where the antennas are?
>>24838226
>it was discovered after the tunnel. The tunnel machine has been under repair for 2 years, and it's probably going to break as soon as it starts again
That's the funniest thing I've heard all week. Seattle confirmed for Kek City USA.
>>24836416
this is definitely an original comment desu desu
>>24838293
Ha, if you're talking about the Kings Row I think you are, then yes. I mean there's an antenna on top of half the decent-sized hills around Casinoland, if you mean the huge antennas on the highest mountain just NW of the city and a little SW of Stead, then no. Few miles south of that.
I'm sure there were a few antennas up in this area too though, and it was a couple miles into the hills west of Kings Row so it's probably what you're talking about. Are you Reno?
I posted this in the first thread but whatever
This is my island, Tenerife. It's part of the Canary Islands in Spain, and the mountain that you can see in the picture is a volcano called Teide. It's not just a random volcano tho, it's the tallest peak in Spain, with 3718 metres!
The volcano can be seen in every point of the island, and, guees what, it can be seen even from the two other closest islands! (La gomera and Gran Canaria)
Also, the Teide is also a national park, and it has flora that only appears in there, like tajinastes and a rare violet.
Took this one a while ago, used to live nearby.

Not any more. I went to UNR and then lived in Reno for a couple years afterward but now I live in Oregon.

that's my dream, man!
Are you doing white-collar stuff there, or did you quit college? I have a friend in programming a few towns south of Portlandand a Tumblr faggot friend getting NEETbux for muh social anxiety a few miles north of Portland
>>24838672
ah ok
>tfw the death of mining and logging killed many awesome railroads
>>24838784
My hometown still has an old narrow-gauge from mining days, and some historical society (or government office, I don't know, I wasn't listening) keeps an old steam locomotive that they use on historic occasions.
Did you rub your dick against foggy glass and then take a picture?

I got a natural resources degree and I work with the forest service doing GIS. It's hard to say whether that's white collar or not; I work on a computer for most of the day but I don't make very much. I live on the other side of the state from Portland in Klamath Falls which is a complete shit hole of a town although the scenery is kind of nice.
What about you? Are you going to school in Reno?

that was at my old place in Sebastopol, as far as I remember the fog just naturally formed like that
and that's good at least. it's important to preserve rail history, especially in such a car addicted country
>>24838964
I love Klamath Falls, beautiful stuff up there.
And nah, I quit uni because I'm a fucking idiot who doesn't realize how life works. I'm construction now. I might go back for a nat. res. degree or something honestly, Forest Service-type stuff is exactly where I want to work longterm.
