I feel bad about browsing 4chan, there's so much blatant sexism and racism here that I don't agree with. Even though I mostly lurk and never post anything offensive I still feel like a bad person who is a part of the problem. However I can't stop browsing, I'm addicted.

The only good stuff about this place is the anonimity, which can actually provide for interesting discussions, free of attention seeking and crowd pleasing.
But as you've already noticed these are not common, since anonimity also provides the safety required to vent all sorts garbage.
What you need to do is ignore the garbage enjoy the good stuff. There's a hide button made exactly for that purpose, learn to use it.
