Is this really true? I made a bunch of good friends in HS and now most of us go to different colleges, and 2 years later I still haven't made any new friends, and I'm always afraid the friends I had in high school will make new friends in college and forget about me... I don't want to be lonely...

I feel like it is, sorry to say it. When I was younger, before the world destroyed me, I made a solid group of like 7-8 friends. And I'm talking very young like I met them when I was 4-5. Despite everything, going to different middle and high schools and colleges I've still maintained the type of relationship where you can not talk for a month or two and pick up like no time had passed with all of them. I made some "friends"
I'm HS and all of them have new friends in college and don't give a shit about me. With childhood friends there is a bond that can't be broken by petty shit. If I didnt have them if have offed myself years ago.

I have a very close friend group consisting of two other people. We've been friends since grade 1 and I went to a different highschool while they both went to the same one.
Whenever breaks come, like Christmas and spring break, we still hang out with eachother. Hell, we even have a facebook chat with us and a few other dudes where we post links to 4chan shit or videos from liveleak or anime or vidya news all the time. I hung out with one of em a few weeks ago and we vaped and played halo 3 while eating chocolate marshmallow snacks and drinking root beer. We were having a ton of laughs. I even brought over some popeyes tendies with sauces. It was ultra comfy mode.

Words of wisdom to any high school anons lurking
I'm sure you think college will be a chance for a fresh start and a new identity for you, but this just does not happen. If you were a loner outcast in high school, you will still be a loner outcast in college. The only way I can see a huge transformation occurring between senior year in high school and freshman year in college is if you went through a late growth spurt that made you look better or caused you to burn off some baby fat.
If that isn't a possibility for you, my advice would be to try like hell to socialize in your first month on campus. That's when people meet new friends and establish new social circles. Don't sit in your dorm room all day. Go to every gathering you can and talk to people instead of quietly sitting in the corner. You will be nervous, but so will the normies. It's all new to them too.
College is a complete waste of time unless you are training to become an engineer or something, drop out and get a job. My experience with college is that it's full of adult children who are trying to avoid "real life" for as long as they can out of fear. Hell, even if you want to become a NEET you can do the same thing without accumulating huge debt. The whole "you need a degree to get a job" thing is bullshit, experience is worth 1000 times more than a piece of paper that says you're a good boy and pay attention to lectures.
