Surprisingly and perhaps fortunately, there were more women than men in the commune. Also there was nothing stopping people from slutting it up, but if you fucked up on the partner match program, you were banned from it since the intent was to create families rather than just like a physical dating app.

Wasn't too complicated, you just opted into it, did an interview and filled out some forms so they could match you up with other people. The requirement was that when you got paired with someone, you weren't allowed to get a new person at least until after a year, and you were strongly made to work with them. You might be unhappy with the match, and after half a year could opt out of the situation but you couldn't just get another partner right away and had to wait out the rest of the period. Being paired with someone as well as the bits mentioned above, you also had to room with that person, and attend friendship and couple building events. So basically you got matched with someone and lived with them and were forced to get to know them and get used to them, and then from there if you were both happy you could mutually get an extension and if you were both unhappy then you could be entered into the program again after a year.
It worked pretty well from what I saw, and is how I met my partner.

Already they're pretty big on screening getting into the commune for things like that.
