For glucaon to work it has to have muscle glycogen reserves to work on. Muscle glycogen reserves come from insulin glucose interactions. You probably ate a shitload of starchy or sugary foods lately, maybe at a birthday party and haven't burnt them off. All you're doing by pumping in more insulin is producing more glycogen, which is bad because eating a stable high protein diet releases glycogen as glucose.
Once you burn off a shitload of glucose you'll be back to normal, just try to avoid taking in shitloads of sugar in future, even at social events. For you, once it's in your system, you have to physically burn it off because you're not as able to store it as fat. Taking more insulin just pushes the problem in to the future, waiting for a glucagon spike from protein inducement.
