What do kids do today, what are they into? I don't know what's popular with the kids and teenagers, makes me feel old.
I mean kids a decade ago had pokemans, DragonBall etc. There where sub groups like emotional, but I really don't know what kids today are into.

Kids are fucking boring now, they're all interested in tablets and phones to play games on. that's about it. The best discussion topic they have is what they built in Minecraft on the weekend.
The problem is that there's so much interesting stuff out there for kids that there's no real single fanbase around anything like we have (DBZ/Pokemon etc.) it's just spread out between 10 mediocre things.

Sleepovers, eating oven pizza, taking turns playing snes at one house and sega at the other.

Making boxcars out of rubbish and pieces of toy strollers to race down the street with.
Going to the forest with a middle class kid who would give us all rides.
Mixing random potions out of chemicals we found in abandonned sheds and pouring them into ant nests and watching those shits take over the street.
Chasing those ants with squirty water guns to get rid of them before they took over.
Playing a rudimentary imaginary live action D&D before we even knew what it was where we'd find items and shit and write down what we have.
Set up a digging op and dig for cool rocks and ores and shit and treasure.
Collect bottlecaps and trade those.
Shit you do today:
Worship celebrities.
Watch other people play games because you're taught not to trust yourself to even have a good time.

I enjoy mine for reading manga, music streaming, maps (walking is one thing but trying to drive via signs around London when everyone else knows where they're going is VERY difficult), weather and e-mails.
Being able to take good quality photos and email them is SO valuable in the modern work environment.

From what I remember as a kid, I could tell when media was good or bad, but had no way of finding out the good stuff existed.
For example if you put in "what are some good games" on google it's probably gonna come up with "Halo 5 and Black Ops 3", rather than "YEAH GET THAT FUCKING 1994 DEMON'S CREST ON SNES THAT SHIT IS THE BOMB NIGGA".
And even then that's only if I had regular internet access 13 years ago which I didn't. All I knew was what kids brought to school, which was usually some awful E-rated rugrats gameboy game given to them by their mom who controlled what they were allowed to play.

I was into weed for a long time. It's breddygud feels but the problem is it makes you not really take in anything you watch or do so like you won't really get to complete any content.
That sounds dumb but I like the feeling of finishing a whole series of something or a game and being able to check that one off. The plus side is you can rewatch the same episode a bunch of times and it's like seeing it all over again.

We were the exact same guys, what you're experiencing now is how other adults felt when you were kids. Kids haven't gotten dumber, they were always dumb, you've simply gotten older. It's how maturity works.

They're attached to Smartphones now and don't speak much, we were attached to computers, parents and grandparents attached to TVs, before that they were attached to books. Runescape is still around as it never dies, Unreal is now CS:GO, WoW is now League of Legends, YuGiOh is now Hearthstone, The Sims 1 + 2 is now The Sims 3 + 4, Stickam and BlogTV is now YouNow, MSN and AIM is now Skype and KIK, Myspace is now Facebook and Twitter, Naruto is now Attack on Titan, DBZ is now One Punch Man, TV shows are now Youtube Apps, Pointless Pop Idols are now Youtube celebrities, Pokemon Red and Blue is now Pokemon X and Y, that expensive robot gadget or remote control car you whined to your mother about is now an expensive phone, Lego is now Minecraft, Sonic is now MLP. It's all still there and it's under a different name and you may think that they require 'lower brain power' but the news flash is, so did stuff when you were a kid, it's just nostalgia making you think your era was better.
Teens are still drinking way too early, having unprotected sex and regretting it, think they're amazing for smoking weed, still try to get nudes from girls but rather than through Myspace and MSN it's through snapchat, still have the exact same cliques, still are too concerned with their appearance, still have hormonal mood swings, still listen to loud music all day, still bully weebs or get bullied for being weebs or be totally ignored because you're that quiet kid, it's all still there, just different names, different time.
