I just finished reading 'The Art of the Deal' by Donald Trump, the guy is a bozo - no intelligence at all. He spends all day taking calls from people who have business ideas and making calls to his buddies. He's turned on by the idea of picking up cheap real estate when someone is in financial trouble and then selling it when the market turns around. He uses daddy's money, and then pats himself on the back about how great he is. Some of the business ideas he agrees to, and when they go when he takes the credit - he never had an original idea himself. I'm surprised at what a dimwit he is.
It got me thinking about successful people, particularly in business. Why the hell would a smart person being doing that? It really gets my goat when these corporate people act like they are intelligent and in general better than everyone else because they are motivated to do what they do. In fact that motivation comes from stupidity, OR from having something to prove; manlet, small dick, non-white, woman, sexual deviant (power allows them to perpetrate).
I'm a NEET for 5 years now and I've been shit all over by intellectual insects who think they are better than me because they spend all day in a stiff blouse or shirt in an office cubicle. Regarding your proposal - well if being this kind of person suits you, climbing to the top is probably still not easy and thus they have some sort of intelligence.

Programming requires the same logical and analytical skills that are heavily correlated with what you, and I, and almost everyone consider as intelligence.
But 10 years after microsoft was founded, was he doing programming? Almost certainly no. His job tasks were probably exactly the same as Donald trump's tasks in your OP. BIll Gates wasn't trying to do smart low level programming or implement algorithms in innovative ways: he was trying to run a business and make it successful. He was making high level decisions.
What use is it for Trump to go and, for example, learn advanced mathematics so that he can work on the finite element analysis computer models that civil engineers might use to build his buildings? It's pointless. Who will he trust to make the high level decisions like: Should we even build a building in the first place? Should it be in this location? Who will be the contractors working on it?
