I really really don't like this album and psuedo-genre.

It's a special album to me.

Pretty sure he's being ironic. Doubt anybody actually does
>>24754029
I guess the music is good even if you don't believe in the religion?
>>24754088
This. I don't give a shit what bands believe in so long as their music is good.
>>24754051
I just really like the 80s alright?
Most of that album is admittedly garbage, but the second track is pretty legitimately catchy along with some of the others though.
>>24754222
>vaporwave
>80s
This is the part that upsets me. I grew up in the 80s, and this whole caricature if you will is anything but it. It's like people are trying to recall an era they missed, and instead paint a post-modern cyberpunk cluster collage.
Go listen to some Rush, Taking Heads, or synthpop if you want 80s. But hey, if you like vaporwave who am I to shit on you? As long as you enjoy it, that's what matters.

some people are offput by religious lyrics and themes, and it's understandable if they're really heavy-handed about it

Nice
I got to see them live once and they were great, crowd was ideal too
>>24754383
Same here. Favorite band. Was able to see them live back in march. Wish they would have played some more older stuff, but that was right after new album came out. They did play Dramamine,Doin the Cockroach, and Different City though so it wasn't all new. Overall it was pretty damn good though.

They came here in September, but it was for a music festival; a music festival with no other artists that I really wanted to see, so ~$180 was too steep. It's nice that you got to hear Dramamine, though. Their new album has some good tracks.
>>24754029
Thanks, anon. This is good.
>>24754861
Same it was a music festival here as well, tickets were only 40 a person.Only 2 other bands there that are even close to known were Mutemath and Gas Light Anthem. Mutemath actually didn't sound to bad live, though their studio stuff kind of sucks. GLA was meh.
Modest Mouse was basically the headliner though who everyone came to see(10,000 people). Didn't start til 9 and it was a good hour or so long performance. Not trying to sound like some music douche, but most the normies there only knew Float on by them, or at least that is what I got by over hearing conversations. Hope they make it back to your area on a cheaper event though.

Every /r9k/ robot can relate to this album, or TDS.

I love the fuck out of NIN. Sadly, you're probably listening to them because you're brooding and hate yourself. So that's a shame.

BEAUTIFUL ALBUM , IT DEFINITELY DESERVES MORE ATTENTION! THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!
Currently bumping this for the first time in a long while. Coil was a band of gay wizards who were among the early pioneers of industrial electronic music. Not wizards in the internet sense, but in a hermetic occultist kind of way. Like Alan Moore. In my opinion, they're responsible for some of the most downright bone-chilling music in history, as well as some of the most exultant. There's some truly transcendental shit in their discography, m8s.
