Who never made a social media account here?
>>
i have my account but don't use it. go on it every now and then just to look at old friends and see how they are doing lol
>>
Even if I had friends, I wouldn't compromise their privacy by having a stupid site reveal that I'm friends with them.
>>
right here
that feel when they ask you the reason but you can't give them it because naming the jew triggers normies
>>
>People without Facebook accounts are "Suspicious"
>this article brought to you by Facebook
>>
Never made one. I'm probably going to have to make one to get a job though.

I fucking hate that.
>>
>>24740132
Why do you need a FB to get a job?
>>
i had one for about 2 hours
>>
What kinda excuses do you guys make for not having one when asked
>>
>>24740321
I made one but deleted it on early 2012. Never signed up for a single social site since
>>

>>
>>24740321
I just say it isn't important to me. Most people understand, as Facebook has become an addiction for a lot of the normies and has become 'cool' to be able to resist using it all the time.
>>
>>24740150
Lots of reasons behind it. Some places will actually ask you about your social media during interviews. I think they like to see more of the healthy and social normies instead of someone that's sad/lonely. Maybe whether or not you're properly representing yourself as an employee of a company outside of work. And it probably also has a little bit to do with whether or not someone could be considered tech savvy or "with the times."
>>
>>24740427
Do they just ask if you use it, or do they ask for the actual link to your accounts? Seems like an invasion of privacy desu.
>>
>>24740427
>Having Facebook
>Tech savvy
>Being a vital part of getting a job
>Weeding out the robots from the normies
Yep, there really is a bias against robots in the world. Refusing to give a depressed person a job will probably just worsen their depression and they might go an hero.

So what if you make a FB page for the purpose of having one to be "in" but you have 0 friends on it. Doesn't that just hurt you more then not having one to begin with.
>>

You won't have 0 friends. Facebook friends are not like real friends.

Used to have one years ago, and even then I never used my real name on it.
>>
>>24740637
But would I add? 23 years old and I'm not going to search for high school peers who I never talked to ever.
>>
I've never had normiebook or twitter or anything social media related. Ironically I'm a software engineer too. I've never even seen normiebook.
>>
>>24740000

I once kept a livejournal where I did not post any uniquely identifying personal information, doxx etc. Some years later (about 5-6), I went through and manually deleted every post, and then closed the account.

I would like to be able to say that I don't have one (a social media account), period, but that's just not true, I can think of three or four. However, there is only one that is expressly designed to be uniquely and obviously "Me" via a simple search of my name, and that's for employment.

I also had facebook for about a month circa 2004, when it was college-only. I was a student at the time. After careful thought and not really using it, I got rid of it (as far as is practicable) and I am very happy that I have stayed off of it, and the other big ones. Every time that some person who is too cozy with the service lets the wrong thing slip, I am vindicated in my decision.

Around just about everything I've made, I've kept some vestige of "plausible deniability" that I can use IRL if the situation warrants. Cutting my teeth on 4chan back then conditioned me to keep such a vestige of anonymity in place for all but those closest to me. I'm also pretty good about not using the same handle/pass in multiple locations. That includes private stuff, apart from twatter (which I also don't use), etc.
>>
>>24740321

I talk to people physically like a sane person.
>>
I have one, but unless you're a turbo normie, you eventually stop using it after a while and maybe login once a month at best.

>>
>>24740708

I will add to this that I check search periodically for "no facebook" and similar phrases, OP. The "herp he must be a serial killer" thing peaked in 2012, and it's been dying down since as (happily) facebook has started to become uncool among young people. Unhappily, they have to replace it with something else and that seems to be hookup apps/manufacturing nudes etc. The silver lining is that normies are now passing STDs around among themselves more efficiently.

>>
almost 4 years now since I had facebook.

Not sure why people think having one is a necessity these days. All I got on my facebook were people complaining left and right about some stupid shit. Don't you dare even try to help either; they'll just turn around and look for a pity party.

Not a bother for me. Anybody important enough in my life is still around.

>>
>>24740835

Yes and no. If you are a robot and you wish to level up to friendships or something, you need to play it cool around this and not sperg out like you just did. Once you have friends, it's "their business" in the sense that eventually someone is going to want you to have one. If this bothers you, don't have friends in today- time travel or just don't have friends, or similar.

OTOH, some employers do make it their business, law or no. And in some cases it makes legit sense. You're not going to be perceived as any good in a marketing department, for example, if you don't play the normiebook game. Victoria's Secret doesn't want Rosie O'Donnell, and Boeing doesn't want Tyra Banks --- to engineer any parts for them. Literal parts. Stop it, you know what I'm trying to say.

It is reasonable for an employer to expect a candidate to participate in society or have a certain skill set, all the moreso depending on the job. And their last chance to feel you out before a hire, before they have certain liability with respect to you, is the interview process. I don't like it either I'm just saiyan it iz whut it iz m8

i'm high functioning autistic (mild autistic disorder) so nobody expects that sort of thing from me.
>>
>>24741550
do people know you're autistic? how? do you tell them?

Because I can't hide my stimming behavior, my sound sensitivity and the fact my empathy is kind of shit and my voice goes from deep monotone to high pitch child like inflection very quickly. Oh and not making eye contact or going in for a full blown cold-dead sperg stare kind of gives warning signals to people.

I've been around other aspies before, most of you seem pretty normal. Just extreme geeks. I knew one aspie guy though who had a really fucked up way of talking. He was an interesting fellow.
>>
>>24741651
do you have aspergers too or something else?
>>
>>24741730

I was just diagnosed as high functioning autistic but could probably pass for aspie.

I'm very similar to temple grandin, in the sense we both had a language delay up to four years old, the same set of symptoms and have very strong visual/spatial thinking ability.

They also used terms like "high capacity" and "hyper-functioning". I think I'm a savant (maybe), hence why I got pushed up to another level for extra support.
>>
>>24741791

>I think I'm a savant (maybe)

They think*

Here.

High-functioning autism is characterized by features very similar to those of Asperger syndrome. The defining characteristic most widely recognized by current psychologists is a significant delay in the development of early speech and language skills before the age of 3 years.[2] The diagnosis criteria of Asperger syndrome exclude a general language delay.[5]

Further differences in features between people with high-functioning autism and those with Asperger syndrome include the following:[2][6][7][8]

People with HFA have a lower verbal intelligence quotient
Better visual/spatial skills (higher performance IQ) than people with Asperger syndrome
Less deviating locomotion than people with Asperger syndrome
People with HFA more often have problems functioning independently
Curiosity and interest for many different things, in contrast to people with Asperger syndrome
People with Asperger syndrome are better at empathizing with another
The male to female ratio of 4:1 for HFA is much smaller than that of Asperger syndrome

Individuals with autism spectrum disorders, including high-functioning autism, have a very high risk of developing symptoms of anxiety. While anxiety is one of the most commonly occurring mental health symptoms, children and adolescents with high functioning autism are at an even greater risk of developing symptoms.[9]

>People with HFA have a lower verbal intelligence quotient

I don't know why they include this one because my doctors said I was very articulate so I maybe Wikipedia needs to update it's information.

>Less deviating locomotion than people with Asperger syndrome

I'm not certain but I think this refers to motor skill problems but I do have those. I have dyspraxia and I feel drunk in my own body sometimes.

The rest is all spot on.
