There is no such things as asymptomatic shedding of the herpes virus because the herpes virus is sequestered into the body if there is no clinical signs of the disease. It is completely unlike other viruses which have tolerant hosts and are shed through secretions. Herpes virus is shed through direct contact, not saliva or secretions and the only way to get direct transmission is from a sore. A sore in remission can still give off virus, which is probably the closest you'll get to "asymptomatic"
