Why do people like clubbing?
Just went yesterday night for the first time with some of my normie friends from school. Walk in the club and can't hear shit then the night started out pretty much like pic related. I ended up getting incredibly drunk and apparently got thrown out. Woke up at 7am in a bus shelter.
I just don't understand how normies enjoy putting themselves through that shit.
Most of them are just there so horny men get to buy lots of expensive drinks for women, but some few have genuinely good music. When their posters primary advertise some drinks, it's a shitty club.

I went clubbing with my friends while I was a uni student. Would hit on girls and the odd time they would grind on me and RARELY would it lead to something else. Most of the time my buddies and I would just get drunk and horse around, like one time my buddy won $110 from a VLT machine and spend pretty much all of it on shots.
Now whenever I go out it will be at quiet pubs. No cover fee, drinks are a little bit cheaper and pub food. Yes a lot of the people who go to pubs have nothing interesting to say but there is the odd one who will tell you about his life experience that's gold.

I like it cause techno interests me. Several times I went into a club alone and completely sober just to dance. Had a fucking blast every time (in good clubs of course, if music is shit no ammount of alcohol and friends can make me have properly good time there). And people still talked to me every now and then even if I had the most serious attitude imaginable, so it's all good. Don't like to be dependant or having people depend on you when in a club.
Women are a plus but not the prime goal. Never got past making out stage (never actively tried to flirt, was basically pinned against the wall and got kissed by a horny girl every time). That weird indie venue that has a dub night or some shit: yes.
There's a place in my city that has these Thursday night experimental club nights with firespinners, hoola hoopers, etc and they play all kinds of crazy bass music with occasional pepperings of reggae and hiphop. It's a really fun, ecclectic, and down to earth crowd.
Goth/industrial nights can also be fun but depending on where you live, those can sometimes only have like 6 gothy scenesters in attendance, which kills the vibe.
Bass heavy music on a good sound system with a bunch of people in the dark and you dance? Shit's great fun.
Anyone who says clubbing sucks is doing at least one of the two following things:
1. Going to the wrong club (see above)
2. Standing around looking at everyone and worrying about how they'll be perceived or worrying about talking to girls instead of just losing yourself and dancing
The key is to find somewhere with music you like. Thursday at one place might be dub night. Sunday at another place might be funk night. Maybe there's an 80s night somewhere if you like new wave. Maybe there's a monthly minimal techno party somewhere.
Dig deep and find the fun shit.
