Just because you're religious doesn't mean you have to be ignorant of other perspectives.
What most "robots" need is a healthy dose of stoicism or some sort of religion to give them a purpose in life. Just be yourself self help books, your favorite science fiction book, and the latest sophistry from Dawkins and Sam Harris isn't really going to help them psychologically.
Seriously, the only way to fix these people is through philosophy.
