teeth is naturally yellow so don't worry too much about it. If it's a dark yellow or brown though you should be worried. Brushing your teeth too hard will damage your enamel. Teeth stains are deep within so no matter how hard you brush, it's not going to change ;)

Braces and invisalign do the same thing, it's just that braces are cheaper. They're also more effective in moving your teeth at a quicker rate.
Retainer would do nothing for you if you haven't had any braces before. Retainers are meant to be worn after your braces treatment to keep the teeth in their perfect positions.
Honestly, if your teeth are just slightly unaligned, you probably shouldn't worry about it. I had braces for 2 years (got them off when I was 21) and it wasn't fun. I'm happy with the results but it was a long 2 years.
Brushing 2 times a day (don't forget to brush your tongue, try to go as far back as you can without throwing up): 9/10
At a minimum you would want to brush once a day, but don't let that be too common. Also, always use a soft brush. My dentist told me the hard brushes are only made for people who clean their shoes.
Mouthwash: 3/10
It makes your breath smell good for a little while, but that's about it. If you rinse with tap water, that's good enough too.
Flossing: 9/10
When I had braces for 2 years, it was the most difficult thing to do. However, I did it every single day and going through all that trouble (took me a good 15 minutes every night) made me appreciate how quick and easy it is without braces. You'll be grateful for doing it at least once a day, before you go sleep. Your gums will be a lot healthier, which also makes your smile look better.
On a side note, make sure to change up toothpaste brands every 2-3 months. Each company uses slightly different formulas, and over time the toothpaste becomes less effective. It keeps your teeth whiter if you switch them up every now and then.

I just flossed and used mouthwash out of anxiety. I know I have multiple cavities and I'm terrified of going to the dentist. I've had some work done before (frenectomy in particular) and I'm so overwhelmed at the thought of going again.
