>Hears it, I have to pretend I don't know what it is
>Awkward silence for rest of car ride
>Fast forward a few days to English class
>Instructor is collecting books and calling names
>Sitting, waiting for my name to be called
>Hear a faint whimpering noise
>Realize I have the hamster in my backpack

>Open my backpack to find it
>Gets louder because my backpack is open
>Everyone staring my direction, including the teacher
>Can't find it, the thing won't fucking shut up
>Find it, get it to be quiet
>Some guy comes and steps on it and it goes off again
>FUCK
>Run out of room
>Dash to bathroom with a ZuZu pet in hand
>Drop it off in the bathroom sink and shut it off
>Return to class
And that, robots, is how I realized I was a total loser just a few days ago.
