Men are expected to be the bread winners, while women are basically expected to marry into rich families and do nothing else with themselves. Girls are carefully mannered into perfectly submissive housewives by their mothers from a very early age.
Japanese youth culture is really screwed up as a result. You have troves of Japanese high school students participating in suicide parties because they failed their finals and can't risk dishonoring their families, then you have grown men prancing around in womens' clothing because they want to liberate themselves from the burden of being treated like nothing but money-making machines.

I'm not so sure it'll take an entire decade. I'd be willing to bet things could change even faster. Right now the SJW shit is all you're allowed to agree with, so publicly people allow it. If you live outside of a major city or some super leftist area (or any college campus) there's still people who don't buy into it all. Not to mention that many people privately see it for the lie it is, but don't say anything for fear of social persecution.
I would say the popularity of Donald Trump is perhaps evidence that a lot of people are growing old of the forced political correctness.

Yeah, the South and any Right-Wing areas haven't quite adopted it yet, but everywhere else is on their merry way.
And it still doesn't matter if people privately disagree with it if it's becoming a part of our society, because that's ultimately what shapes social climate. All of this BLM and cop protesting is the hot topic now, and when there are finally reforms they will be in favor of feminism, only adding momentum to the movement. I still think it's gonna take at least a decade for it to slow down.
