Who /StarGazing/ here?
>>24662559
I live in a city right now, so I can't see shit at night. Why do normies need the light on 24/7? There's usually no one else out when I go for my midnight walks.

who /SunGazing/ here?
>>24662559
>tfw i live in too much of a light-polluted, smog-infested shithole to be able to stargaze
>>24662559
Here, have some OC
Would rather city-gaze in Minneapolis desu, beautiful in the winter, except for all the assholes taking pictures with their Starbucks in the snow
Me when I go out to the fridge in the garage to restock the fridge inside, take a peek at the stars to realize how insignificant everything around me is. Maybe think about how this all came to be for a few seconds before realizing I probably wouldn't be able to understand a true explanation of how something can come from nothing.

Ring Nebula
I want to stargaze but I can't afford a telescope or anything. and my vision is fucking awful. I do appreciate seeing the stars out at night even though some of their prettiness is lost on me.

Anon how are you getting such pretty pictures omg

How do I do this? How little light pollution do I need to achieve this?
>>24663202
A good telescope and a good camera that you can attach to the telescope

What the fuck? The stars are too far out of place for these pictures to have been taken on Earth in the past millenia.

Technically, I cheated. Used a professional scope (Stanford University) to take these. These were taken by 16 inch and 24 inch scopes.
As for light pollution, the Bay Area isn't the best, but Stanford's definitely not as bad as a full on city.

Took these last summer, m8.

Have another nebula. /fit/ in space.

Here's a cool one; each dot in this image is a moon of Saturn.
Titan's the brightest one, to the right. The ultra-bright thing that's been blocked out is Saturn itself.

Not on Earth, obviously.

what equipment produces such quality photos?
I didn't used my telescope since my little bro destroyed the eyepiece.
>>24663328
What's good? One of those big bucket ones?
>>24663548
Fuck, so to get these sort of pics I have to have a million dollars telescope?
>>24663757
I was unaware that Stanford Observatory is located elsewhere.

You can get this quality of pic using smaller telescopes as well. This can be done by taking more images of decent-length exposure, and then stacking them.
For example, the images I have here are mostly 10-15 (3-5 in R, G, B and L) images of each item, with 30 second exposures.
The quality of image is determined essentially by the amount of light you capture. So if you're using telescopes with smaller apertures, all you have to do is increase the exposure times or take more images to stack together, so that on the whole, you capture similar amounts of light.

light pollution is the worst
