Maybe your woman friend has a dating strategy. A lot of people think if you are dating someone usually by the third date you start having physical contact. Maybe she likes you but doesn't want this to be a date because she is self conscious and is nervous about approaching some arbitrary date number where she is expected to start putting out. You could easily play this into something good, OP, but you have to humor her wishes for now and be patient.
