If Force Awakens is worse than the prequels, than it will loop back through terrible all the way to masterpiece. Anything worse than The Phantom Menace will be something akin to The Room. So utterly horrible it will be entertaining.
My fear is that it will just be really boring, mediocr and cringey like JJ's Star Trek movies.

It will probably be decent fun, Lucas had no creative control over it and the mouse really wants this to be a good and popular movie, and has been willing to spend to bring in skilled people, it's unlikely to be ground breaking but won't be the prequels.
