i'd also put smw2: yoshi's island in my top vidya of all time, and i still think that's the best platformer of all time. super castlevania iv would be up there as well, since i think it far surpasses SotN. the metroid style castlevania games are shit and i'd rather just play super metroid.

The funny thing is that the devs never wanted to put them in there, but their userbase of dumb kids begged them to do it in several surveys. You don't actually need the IAP's to progress in the game. It's perfectly doable in a reasonable time period, especially if you know how to use gems and item bonuses properly.

It is, but the problem is that there's still no JTL, and there are no additions that came after NGE (and even though NGE was absolute shit combat-wise, it got incredible content additions later on when the game was already dying, it even had atmospheric spaceship flight!).
There's a few servers running on leaked NGE code that have some of that, but it's not code from the final version of the game, something like a year before the end when some of these additions weren't in yet.
So unfortunately both versions are very incomplete, and the community is splintered as fuck. Although the main SWGEmu server is actually decently populated. I don't have the drive to actually play but I sometimes log in just to walk through the cities and sit in the cantina a bit.

Unfortunately it was rushed out, and the whole 3rd act end and beyond is tedious as fuck.
But yeah, I agree. Played through every clan. Played through tons of shitty mods. Read the stupid novels, ran a V20 game...
But nothing can recapture those first two playthroughs (as a regular clan and then a malk). Nothing can recapture that first time in the Ocean House, reading about the dryer and then finding it as it slowly opens...
Just wipe my mind and let me replay again, senpai...

i'd say counter strike.. but warcraft 3, quake, runescape and wow would be top 5.
counter strike just because of the mods/user content. in cs you have different game modes like surf, jailbreak, glassfloor,slide, deathrun, hide n seek, minigames, warcraftsource/rpg etc. then you have all that with different user made maps like skill surf maps, scoutzknifes, awp_ maps, gungame maps, fy_ maps..
surf is basically like a whole different game, it can be played like competitively with scrimming and is fast paced/has decent skill needed for it and is fun.
modding/custom content makes games so much better.. the game developers who are turning custom content from user content into pay2play are making games crap, and they have to release more and more of the same game with different maps, maybe some new guns/models, just to have people buy it.
Probably my all time favorite.

basically all final fantasys, all fallouts, all oblivions, grand theft auto, call of dutys if you want a single player fps, fighting games like brawl/street fighter/tekken, minecraft, warcraft, command and conquer, mount and blade
theres heaps of playstation games games, just run a crack/chip on your console and download them to play too
all those games would take a good while to finish, plus a lot of them have mods or maps you can add extra. like mount and blade has a lot of modding, warcraft has some single player custom maps, fallout has extra mods.
you could download any game and speedrun it as well if you got bored of it. like doom or quake
