I think this happens for most people, playing out different scenarios in their heads (I.e. "What IF I did this instead of that...) and I do that to "fulfill desires". The biggest issue with answering your question is that I don't have very many desires. Growing up (and now) my perfect idea of a bedroom, for example, is plain white walls with a plain bed, a desk, drawers, and a door. I wear literally the same exact shirt etc (multiple copies) every single day and live a relatively plain life.
It would be a lie to say I don't have desires but they are kept bottled up and I'm fine with that, living a plain and closed life.
