It's called pectus excavatum, I have it and desu it sucks but the only thing you can do is love yourself 100%, working out will help but it will still be noticeable, only cure is surgery and it's brutally painful, 2+ year recovery time, and unless you pass a certain test then insurance won't cover it and it'll cost you 50 k. No, it wasn't a bear. I don't know what happened. I don't think it's been like this my whole life because no doctor ever said anything about it to me. I didn't even realize anything was wrong until one of my friends put her hand on my chest and was surprised by how deep it went. That wasn't the best feeling. I was 18 years old and found out that I'm deformed. I just never thought about it before. I guess as far as deformities go, this one isn't so bad.

I also had pectus excavatum and mine was quite a bit more severe than the person in that pic's, so I had to have it corrected surgically. For how severe mine was I barely noticed any symptoms save for tiring out slightly faster than my peers during physical activities. When I finally called it to the attention of a doctor, he scheduled me for some cardiovascular imaging and I found out my heart was badly displaced and compressed into a peanut-like shape, with a few other issues which I can't exactly remember, but all of them went away pretty much the moment my chest rose.
Another note, the doctor who did mine has been dealing with PE patients for over 30 years and he told me that something he's found in patients with the disorder is that they go on to develop arrhythmia more often than normal people, and he's not sure if it's having your heart compressed for so long that causes it or it's an underlying issue related to the disease.
Mine is deep enough to look weird. I hate it when people point it out. It's a great bowl though.
