Does anybody else regret that they rejected religion?
dealing with the meaningless of existence is such a fucking hassle. I can't convince myself that life is worth living or that I should kill myself, since it does not matter anyway. so I'm stuck in this place of absolute indifference.
I mean, if I stayed a true believer, I could probably be happy right now. Of course it would not matter anyway, but at least I would enjoy this ride to nowhere.

If you can't logically believe in the existence of gods or an afterlife in the first place, then exactly what are you setting out to accomplish here? Faith isn't a switch that you can just flip on or off. Either you can cognitively accept that conclusion, or you can't.

I am deeply spiritual, but understand that reality is not to be contested by my beliefs, which only exist to describe reality and not to build a society like traditional religions.

Objectively, life is meaningless regardless of what your beliefs are. It's how you choose to live out your life is what gives it any relevance.
Lots of people delude themselves with a sickening amount of optimism, some of them by means of religion. But ultimately, the quality of your life depends on your circumstances and not unfounded beliefs. This is just common sense.
Not at all. Religion needs to evolve if I'm gonna get on board. But I don't see any real prophets for that to happen.

You're applying human logic to something that is, at best, a vague concept.
Even if a god does exist, all of these religiouscukks don't know if their god gives a shit about them or if they're solely existing for his entertainment. There's no certainty in faith, so there's no reason for it.
Why would an all powerful being even need us? It created us for our own benefit? And will punish us in an after life if we don't live up to some arbitrary moral code that even it can't live up to?
Religion provides too many questions and not nearly enough answers.
