My favourite game and my favourite comfy game is ac2. The music and atmosphere is beautiful. If it had the combat system implemented in Brotherhood it would be perfect. >what are your comfy games robots?

Oblivion.

Now, before morrofags start getting butthurt all over the place, I genuinely did try to get into morrowind. Unfortuantely, I played oblivion first, and after becoming accustomed to it, it is very difficult to get used to morrowind.

Not being able to hit shit you are standing directly infront of(I know, it's an RPG, and your hit rate is determined by stats, but I don't care - it's still completely ridiculous).

And Vivec. God, what kind of a lobotomized retard designed that city? It's fucking huge, literally every area looks just like every other area, it takes ages to get around.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Files#Daggerfall.2C_Full_Version

Easy to use installer here.

Turn mouselook and fullscreen on, remapping the keys is easy and make sure you pick very high reflexes when you create a character.

The art style of the game is pretty sweet only problem is the resolution of the textures. Change the dosbox config so the resolution is a fairly large 4:3 box, textures look laughable stretched.

Worth while getting into now, you'll forget how dated it looks after a few minutes of gameplay, the scope of the game, punishing foes and flexibility in character creation with advantages and disadvantages makes it very replayble and addictive.

I tried Syndicate and Unity.

I think part of AC2's appeal was it felt like a journey. He travelled around Italy, meeting people, he aged, matured and grew and you grew with him. The soft, beautiful soundtrack gave it this beautiful grace to it.

ISo, I booted up syndicate, and it's set in a single city, takes place over like a year and the trailers are filled with electric guitar music. There's no emotion left in it.

4 felt a bit like a return to that emotion, seeing all your friends grow and leave you. Ubisoft doesn't deserve the series, it should be in better hands.

Haven't tried the multiplayer but I think it would somewhat compromise the comfy feel of the game. Being alone in a hostile world, slowly progressing and getting better. Also, if you don't have anyone close to play with while talking in skype I don't think it's a good idea at all. It seems that the multiplayer would require a huge amount of cooperation.

tl;dr get the singleplayer (or torrent it)

I played multiplayer with my sperglord bro. Different characters have better/worse combinations and you absolutely have to cooperate. My bro is overly aggressive and I prefer to plan long-term so it balances out, we help eachother with stuff. You do need to learn the game.

Honestly Don't Starve is a ridiculous time-sink, there's constant barrages of shit and even with a fast can and preparing for a lot of stuff, you get stun locked for a second or two and all that preparation goes down the shitter. Literally the only real long-term viable survival was when I would run librarian and would plant tentacle farms (cactus provides a lot of sanity senpai), and my bro was running weigraf for the armor+spear

>>24615836
Oblivion is shit. If you play it the way they want you to i.e. going pure combat, the game is probably ok, but if you're doing security, sneaking, whatever, you're going to be fucked. The level scaling is ridiculous, and you can't get decent shit without being x level, so it's garbage if you don't play the way they want.

YEEESSSS. such a fucking good game. probably the best game I've ever played.

It's so rewarding if you're a fan of the series and have played TW1&2 and also read the books, but I imagine you would still enjoy the game if not.

My 100% completionist playthrough clocks in at just under 200 hours, and where with most games that just makes me feel like I'm autistic and wasting my life away, in TW3 it felt fulfilling to see every inch of the world and all its content that people spent years of their lives putting together.

This.

Everyone cites Skyrim as comfy but what's so comfy about a bunch of swedes in a war-torn, snowy landscape that has a bunch of evil dragons flying around in it?

Oblivion is the comfiest game of all time. Perfect music, perfect setting, unrealistic enough to make you feel like you're in another world and not just Sweden with Dragons...

If you disagree you're retarded, also Witcher 3 is second place.

Batman Arkham Origins is an UNBELIEVABLY comfy game.

It really really sucks that it's not that amazing, because I want to love it for the setting and atmosphere. Seriously, after 12am on Christmas Eve in the snowy streets of Gotham City. Some festive lights and a Christmas tree. The soft glow of lights from inside apartments. I feel like Santa Claus.

Killing Floor, not so much 2 but the first one. Something about holding down an area and everyone just working in sync gave me nice feels, everyone sticking to their jobs is honestly pretty calming even if enemies swarmed. KF2 feels sloppy because everyones just rushing around and have no sort of coordination, PVE becomes "every man for himself" survival.

Gmod and Skyrim.
Sometimes I just fly around gm_akiba to feel like I'm in a weeaboo wonderland.
As for Skyrim, I've got an ENB, Frostfall, Cloaks of Skyrim, and iNeed for ultimate survival comfy. I plan on purchasing the DLC this Monday.
>>
>>24621417
I still play Gmod occasionally, 650+ hours, sometimes I join a random dark rp server and mess around for a bit

I'd suggest getting a whole bunch of immersion mods for skyrim, ineed, frost fall and cloaks are a good start but look for more. Camping, darker nights, cold and wet and a few others should help you tailor your experience. Also get a tough reactive combat mod and an enemy spawner like Sands of Time to make the world actually challenging.

Nothing is more comfy than being forced to set up camp with Lydia because it's too dark and cold to travel and sitting by the fireplace cooking meat and soaking in the atmosphere.
>>
>>24621646
Whenever in gmod I would just make everyone hate me. I would always play zombie survival servers and unnail props 24/7 and generally fuck up whatever I touched. I guess negative attention is better than no attention.

>find the nearest group of fellow STALKERs sitting around a campfire in an abandoned bust stop
>sit around with them
>listen to their stories
>share some vodka and tourists delight with them

I also really liked Skyrim for this reason.
>get a bunch of survival and camping mods
>wandering around the woods in the snow
>gets dark
>set up my tent, start a campfire
>chop some wood
>cook some soup
>take a nap, wake up in the early morning, pack up all my stuff and clean up the fire pit
>keep wandering around the woods
>see a massive ruin or crypt before me
>decide it's getting dark, set up my camp again near the entrance and wait until morning to clear it
>warm up near the campfire before bed
>character holds their hands out to the fire while I'm standing near it

>>24622015
Yes, I did that too sometimes. But wandering alone is much more satisfying for me.

You ever played Fallout? I think you would like it. I explored everything that there was to explore in New Vegas. Meeting random people, just living in the wastes. That whole NCR/Legacy fight not concerning you one bit. Because after all, you will still have your home on the wastes.
>>
>>24622117
I played New Vegas for a bit. It was fun for a while but it didn't give me that same feeling for some reason. I tried Fallout 4 on somebody else's PS4 and that was fun to wander around in too. I never tried any of the camping or survival mods though. It might also have had to do with other things, I don't remember any regular wild life in New Vegas too. Skyrim had deer, birds, etc. A lot of wildlife that just wandered around and did their own thing. New Vegas just has a lot of wild enemies that attack you on sight. Skyrim and STALKER had random bandit camps or other travelers going their own way, but I don't really remember encountering anything like that in New Vegas. Still fun though, I enjoyed wandering around and exploring random vaults and reading logs.

DK64, and both Banjo-Kazooie games. Great music, lot's of exploration, and some of the levels are really comfy, particularly Fungi Forest, Treasure Trove Cove, and Cloud Kekoo Land.
>Super Mario Sunshine
All the levels are vacation spots. Really fun jumping mechanics, and there are lot's of NPC's so the world's don't feel as "dead" as SM64.

This has been posted a lot already, but I wanna add my 2 cents. I found most of the quests boring tbqh, but the unique NPC's, music, setting, and childishness compared to GTA makes it really comfy. I'd love to see a sequel.

I suppose I find a lot of N64/Gamecube games comfy, probably cause I grew up with them, so nostalgia, but many of them have great music and environments with just enough NPC's so they don't feel lonely. For example, I love Metroid Prime 1&2, but they feel so damn lonely, and the worlds you're on have died and been taken over by monsters, so I wouldn't call them comfy. I like Half-Life 2 a lot as well, but it's somewhat similar to MP in that regard. At least there are NPC's though. I actually find HL2:EP2 quite comfy though. Don't forget the gnome.
