I wasnt exactly a NEET virgin, but my life was in shambles in my early twenties. Hated everyone, and myself. No friends, cut ties with my family, nothing mattered and nobody mattered. But then something clicked when i was 26 or so. I started to TRY to care about myself. Started small: cut back on drinking, stopped smoking weed. Once that was the new standard for my life, i improved my diet. First i just eliminated soda and sugary shit, then it moved on to actually counting calories and loading up on the correct micro and macro nutrients.
After a while of TRYING to give a shit, i actually started to give a shit. I hit the gym, went back to college for an accounting degree. When i stopped hating myself, i reconnected with my family and made an attempt to be more social. Id try to hang out with people from work, with varying levels of success. I made friends at the neighborhood bar, id just go in for drinks by myself during happy hours. Over time id make myself start conversations with the bartender or the other regulars. Eventually i had actual friends.
I made an effort to look better and to act more pleasant to people. Feigning interest in mundane and banal bullshit is a skill, not a talent. But people like that.
After getting my life in order, very very gradually, the women started showing up. If you take care of yourself and can be an ok listener, women will find you attractive. Very few people are genetically ugly or stupid or uninteresting. Its all about how you choose to present yourself.
