Penpal threads haven't fully caught on yet. Other generals get posted almost everyday, but I only post this once or twice a week. I don't want to spam it all the time. Some weeks are good, some aren't. If these threads get popular enough that'd be cool, but I don't think they will. /r9k/ has changed a lot since I initially wanted to make penpal threads. People would rather discuss racebait and boipussies more than Asian women now.

I found my penpal on Japan guide and we've been talking for over four years now. I never used interpals, but other robots have said that a lot of the women, unsurprisingly, just look at your profile picture and message Chads. Japanguide has no profile pictures so you are forced to actually like the other person based on personality. If I had the money and decided to ask my penpal about something like that, I think there'd be a very good chance she'd agree to a relationship. This is a good point. I bring up my penpal and some of the cutesy things we do, but it started 100% platonic. We really did just coincidentally got along well and after talking to someone for so long you get pretty close. Look for someone who you will enjoy talking to, not someone who you wish would come marry you. Just having someone nice to talk to is better than being completely alone in life.
