Why don't you learn a foreign language?
I'm learning Mandarin and Spanish. Since we all have a lot of free time and internet access, there's no excuse not to. Literally since I started learning Chinese, I can now talk to cute chinese biddies in their tongue. Asking to practice their language with them is a great way to ask them out, and they'll think you're awesome for being a white guy learning their language. And learning languages makes you smarter.
So instead of discussing frogs on an imageboard, why don't you check out some language learning sites?

>be 26
>finish mechanical engineering
>find a job at a newly opened Toyota plant in my country
>coworkers are all learning jap for free
>ask why
>they tell me promotions are easier if you show disposition to get on that "japanese work culture"
>decide take jap classes for free at plant
I haven't gotten any promotions but the teachers are qts

OP here. Rossetta stone is shit. It sucks as a language learning program, and it's also fucking overpriced. There's so many free websites out there though, and movies/TV/news/media in the language you want to learn, which is way more useful.
stop posting gondola btw famo. you'll ruin him.

Why do people use rosetta stone and similar courses? Is there any way the following can go wrong?
- learn alphabet
- learn basic grammar(library, internet)
- start reading whatever you come across, memorize vocabulary and mimic sentence structures

Duolingo is a good option for step 2. Teaches you grammar pretty well.
