the problem is that "exercise" in the sense of going to the gym just means jack shit. What's best is burning calories continually, like walking to the store and dragging your food back, going places on a bike rather than public transport, cleaning your house quite often but with elbow grease etc.
If you live semi-actively, you will get slimmer. Then going for a run or brisk walk every once in a while is a bonus.
If you sit on a couch, do nothing, then go to a gym to burn as many calories, it's stupid and useless.

But food wise, yes, all of those things will help you.

Look this is what i did to lose weight.

Eat two meals a day.
Nothing else
Just two meals a day.
And not huge giant meals, just 2, normal sized meals a day.

Each meal will probably be 700-1000 Calories, so with 2 a day and nothing else you will be likely eating under and lose weight, or at least not gain any.

Do some tiny excerise too, not running or lifting, just stand up more, stand up at your desk, it feels nice, figet a lot, move your arms, put the heating down so you're a bit colder, that can burn a lot of extra energy. It's a workout to keep your body warm and you don't have to do anything.

Exercise isn't super important desu. Cardio is shit, you can spend half an hour running and burn enough calories for half a bagel.

You can do HIIT which is better becasue it creates a demand for calories throughout the day.

You can also LIFT BRUH but losing weight while gaining muscle requires a very fine dietary balance that you're probably not going to want to do.

So don't worry about the exercise at this point, diet is the most important thing. Still the /fit/ sticky has a lot of information about diet, since its the most important thing.

8 days ago I just stopped eating. I haven't had anything but water since. I haven't felt any hunger pains at all. Turns out I was eating all the time out of boredom and habit rather than desire.

Yesterday I had diarrhea and it cleaned out everything that was left inside, now I feel really healthy. I'm still fat but I don't feel bloated anymore. I'm going to continue for another week and then slowly reintroduce small amounts of food, HEALTHY food.

Hopefully I'll be a skelly by early next year. So my advice to you guys who are fat and can't diet is; literally go 100% cold turkey for a week or so. After that only eat small amounts of healthy food.

I failed every other attempt to reduce my intake or eat healthy, but just not eating at all has been easy as fuck.

Avoid white bread like the plague. Substitute with black rye bread. I recommend you buy this from an Eastern Euro store so it doesn't taste like crap.

Make sure you work out as well, otherwise you're gonna lose whatever muscle mass you have and it'll take a lot of pain to get it back.

Cheese is totally ok, as long as it's in small portions. Dairy in general is really healthy, as long as you're not a retard about it. Buy Kefir and eat healthy fats.

Also, take ashwagandha and do kapalabhati.

In addition to what all the others said, protein is your friend.

Let me tell it to you in a simple way: every day you use your muscles, even for small things like walking around or fapping. Every time you use your muscles, you destroy them. Protein is what your body uses to reconstruct itself. Of course its main priority is feeding the brain, so if there isn't enough protein in your body it will prioritize the brain and vital body functions first. By eating more protein you can ensure your body restores your muscles which in turn means your body will burn more calories.

You can easily look up how much protein you need. If I'm not mistaken you need about 20-25 grams of protein per meal and about 10-15 grams of protein with each between meal snack, depending on your gender, height and how much you exercise (more exercise = more muscle deterioration = more protein needed to help your body recover). It also helps that protein (as well as vegetables) usually make you feel "full". Don't eat too much protein though, as the excess will just be stored by your body as fat.

What you also need is food with a low glycemic index. Just google "glycemic index" for more information. If I'm not mistaken it basically means how likely your body is to convert it into what is essentially sugar. For example, if you like rice then it's better to switch to brown rice or couscous than to eat white rice, as brown rice has a low glycemic index. Same for potatoes: you're better off switching to yams.

And then there are vegetables, which are also very filling and provide you with fibers and vitamins.

And then there's fats. There are unsaturated fats, saturated fats and transfats (started out as unsaturated, then became saturated). Transfats are the worst, unsaturated fats are what you need in small doses (fatty fish, olive oil etc.).

Don't take what I say at face value, but as a starting point for your google quest. Just remember:

Eat three meals a day with two snacks. Try not to go over your limits.
