How can one be sure that this reality is real? Do our brains exist in reality, or does reality exist in our brains? You can't be certain. One way of looking at it is that this is Purgatory. Maybe each one of us did something unforgivable in a previous life, and this is an "in-between" reality we're stuck in, living the lives of every single human being that ever existed, one at a time. Born, die, born, die, born die. Wake up after having never gone to sleep, eventually go to sleep and never wake up; eventually waking up as somebody else entirely. An endless cycle. Perhaps we are condemned to this fate until we are able to mend our tarnished soul/consciousness. Maybe we deserve this.
Maybe this is Hell.

Maybe whatever life form this unfathomably large universe makes up of is us. As in there is no "I", likewise there would be no "you". Perhaps we are simply the universe itself taking on different forms.
It's strange how we stop wondering about things like this. As a child we would ask "why," "why," "why," "why," "why." Then we grow up and knock it off with all the questions nobody has an answer to.
