If you are in college switch to math major immediately. You will thank me later.
Nah, I'd rather contribute something to the world.

>majoring in autism
As a university fag, I can confirm that OP is right.
If you want intellectual rewardment, pure maths. If you want big money, stats maths.
i'm too dumb for math. go for medicine instead, like me.
>>24571219
Remember when people said topology and number theory wouldn't have real world applications? :^)
>>24571184
Too late. You should have told me six years ago.
but the janitor at my work place majored in math
>mfw been in community college for four years
>>24571227
>intellectual rewardment
That would be philosophy, not math.
>>24571337
It's cool. I was there for 4 years and I'm at UCSD, now
>>24571184
I'm taking maths and aerospace engineering at cambridge uni, holy fucking shit I have no time do do anything. Don't do it fags
>>24571337
I spent three years at community, I'm in med school now
>>24571394
Ah shit I didn't realise I chose a smug pepe. Ignore the pic
>>24571184
But I fucking hate math.
>>24571349
Load of shit. Nothing that came out of Kant's head compares with the four square theorem.
>>24571337
Who cares? Once you get your transfer you can go to literally any college you want.
>>24571337
Entering my 2nd year now. No worries anon
>>24571394
describe to me your typical day.
what if I'm so dumb I couldn't even pass high school calc?
>>24571394
It'll be worth it, friend.
I'm jealous that you have that opportunity.
>>24571461
Good luck finding a job with whatever degree you decide to get.
>>24571184
> tfw not even a math major
> tfw have 104% in Calc 3 class and finals are next week
Feels Good..
im fucking tired of doing math
calculus was exhausting
>>24571394
but you're still on here posting frogs
What?
I am a math major OP. I hate this shit. I won't be able to do anything after college either so I am trying to become an actuary.
Why the hell should anyone switch into this major? Seriously.
>>24571337
>tfw 1 1/2 years and finally transferring to real college in January
We're all gonna make it
>>24571184
>tfw liberal arts
>tfw about to be published
>tfw the next step is publishing my play about a Robot's life
>>24571515
Seriously though why should anyone do this major?
Differential topology is hard as fuck. I am not getting anything close to the kind of GPA I would get with literally any other major, even engineering because I've fucked myself over with graduate math classes and there's no turning back now.
What's the point?
Yeah I'll graduate, but my GPA won't be that good and yet I'm doing nothing but studying 24/7.

>mfw STEMlords think that plugging in numbers and using basic symbolic logic to """prove""" theorems is comparable to writing a quality senior thesis

Oxbridge students aren't nearly as hard worked as they like to pretend. They are literally nannied through their studies by college tutors, and spend all their free time getting pissed.
>studying at faculty of law (law school for amerikeks)
>actually want to be a political scientist or a legal historian at the most
M I S C H I E V O U S
Im in my first year of Bsc econometrics and operations research.
So far Ive had analysis I and linear algebra. Next semester Ill get analysis II and probability theory
All our professors are math professors, same with the tutors, majority did maths
>>24571461
>high school calc
>tfw my shitty high school didn't teach us calc

>When we take in our hand any volume; of divinity or school metaphysics, for instance; let us ask, Does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning concerning matter of fact and existence? No. Commit it then to the flames: for it can contain nothing but sophistry and illusion.

I have an English degree from a state school and now work as an English teacher in Vietnam.
No regrets.

>If you are in college switch to math major immediately. You will thank me later.
Mathematics is boring as fuck.
>>24572339
i bet you study something fucking boring like biochem
Studying actuarial maths here. The workload isn't that heavy so as long as you're intelligent enough to comprehend the maths, you should get along fine and we don't get much assignments either. It's a high paying job too once you graduate.
Personally I'm planning to become a NEET upon graduation though because free time means more to me than money but if you want to be a wagekek then it's literally one of the best jobs out there as long as you at least tolerate high level maths (personally I like it) so I can see why maths is recommended over something like engineering which is a lot more work for worse prospects.
yup i'm finishing my freshman year in biochemistry and i'm switching to a comp sci major/math minor
>don't want to end up being a labrat my whole life
>don't want to go to med school
>don't want to go to grad school
>tfw school is good in biochemistry but ok in comp sci
i'm feeling pretty good now that i know i can go into the tech industry, business, or even something like chemistry in their it department
What am i supposed to do with a degree in mathematics?
Nah I was always horrid in the maths. When I started out in a community college my plan was a degree in English. about half-way through the first year there I grew an interest in the Russian language and started studying it on my free time. Eventually I became reasonably fluent and decided to pursue my studies in that. Problem was though that my CC didn't offer Russian so I had to go to another CC that had it for my requirements. Now, i'm about to graduate next semester and opportunities are really looking hopeful. Linguistics is also a good degree. But mostly every degree is useless without networking. My brother majored in computer science and he's been out of work for 3 years now.
>doing something I don't enjoy to fill a quota
No thank you.
